splash dvd con

Has anyone had trouble with Splashdvd.com Ordered some stuff at the begining of the month still waiting for DVDs. Money has been taken from my credit card. Managed to get through eventually 55mins wait on phone Immediately the guy asked if i wanted a refund without asking about my order. Told him I was chasing order up was told iwaiting for stock and goods would be despatched Feb 10th ( I phoned Feb 12th !!!???) Still no sign of goods. Think they may be taking orders earning interest on money taken and then giving refunds as stock does not exist. Just contacted two mates who put orders in at begining of Feb and guess what no DVDS but money taken from their credit cards mmmmmmm??

I think i`m one of the few people who`s never had a problem with them. My orders usually come very quickly, most recently frasier series 1. I ordered on Monday and got it today.

Although the vast majority of people do seem to be conned by Splash, IMO it`s strange that some people, as a poster above stated, have never had any problems with them.

Could it be to do with where you live or the CC you use on the site? Could the poster above say whereabouts they live and also what type of CC you used?

Whoa! I assume you mean the vast majority of people who post here about them- since we have no way of knowing about those who don`t. ;)

Basically, people are far more likely to comment about a bad experience than a good one.

True, but there are far more bad comments about Splash that any other retailer.

Never had a problem with them yet,ok you get a bit of a wait sometimes but I would sooner wait a few weeks for a £7.99 DVD then pay £19.99 for the same one on the High street, people start ringing them after a few days, just chill out it will arrive....well mine always have. :) :)

Oscar.

Don`t get me wrong, Jim, I`m not defending Splash - they`ve clearly p***ed off a lot of people.

They must be satisfying most of their customers, though, or they`d have gone out of business a long time ago.

I`ve previously posted with `I`ve had no problems . . . ` comments, but can`t say that`s true anymore. I order 3 kiddies DVD`s in mid November for a christmas present. One arrived 3 days before christmas, the other 2 (& my freebie) never arrived despite being listed as despatched.

I complained in the new year and they resent the undelivered ones. Again 1 arrived, but the location of the other (& the freebie) still remains a mystery. So I complained a 2nd time and the final DVD turned up last week (18 February) 3 months late ( I never did receive the freebie, but as it didn`t cost me I`ll let that one go).

I have no doubt I will use them again (once I`ve forgotten the pain they`ve caused me), and my nephew did finally get his DVD`s, but you won`t catch me amongst the `I`ve never had a problem . . . ` entries for Splash again . . . don`t be fooled, they are cheap for a reason.

Word of advice . . . don`t put multiple items on the same order at Splash - they seem to get very confused by these. Place each order separately.

I agree to this, I ordered 4 items on 2 separate orders on SplashDVD around mid January. They have delivered one or two items to each order, and still havent sent dispatched the others.

However, they did dispatch a DVD box-set 2 weeks ago, but it never came, so I called them today, and they said they`ll send me a replacement - I asked for an email to say they`ll dispatch it - havent received it yet - anyway I hope it comes this time, and they said they`ll deliver the other items soon - but to be honest I`ll believe it when I see it.

Prices may be good but there`s a lot of hassle with SplashDVD. Just hope it sorts itself out.
