I got my new lap-top from Dell last year... the prices seemed reasonable, and they can custom make you one to fit your exact needs/requirements... :)

Eveshams worth a look, uk based, good customer service, though a bit more pricey due to that. Spoilt for choice really depends on budget etc. All after your business so much competition.

If at all possible don`t buy anything with a maxtor in it.
Dells prices may be good but their phone systems are absolute hell to deal with.

Bought my original PC from Mesh and that seemed fairly painless.

I am currently looking at computerplanet.co.uk as they seem to have some good deals, where you can customise your PC to suit your requirements and budget. But it is easy to get carried away! You start with a £150 base unit and once you tailer it to suit your needs it ends up at £400 :D Anyone had any experiance with these guys as the web site certainly looks like they know what they are doing.

VENT >:(
I purchased a PC from Evesham but they sent me the wrong one! I then was told the pc would be collected by the courier on a certain date (between 8am and 5.30pm) but no one turned up, I phone them to let them know and they said it was beyond their control and they would arrange another collection (2 days of my annual hols wasted)

This time PC was collected and a few days later I gave them a call to ask where my computer was. The lady on their customer care line told me I may have to wait 10 days until the wrong pc was looked/checked over and then my PC would be sent out!

I couldn`t believe it, I had already waited ages at this stage so I asked to cancel my order and to have my money back. The lady told me I would receive a full refund. A few days later a package arrived from Evesham....yep the wrong PC had been sent back to me. I then had to call them up and arrange for collection etc again. As I had used 3 days holidays by this stage I asked to be compensated. All I managed to get was assurances that they were famous for the customer service they provide and some bumf in the terms and conditions.

"However whilst we do sincerely apologise for the problems you have had with the equipment, we do consider that Evesham Technology has acted in good faith at all times and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract to have the equipment repaired for you. Under the terms of this contract "Neither party shall be liable to the other for any indirect or consequential loss or damage, loss of profit, loss of use or production or of contracts which the other may suffer arising out of any breach by a party of its obligations under the contract and whether the same be due to the negligence of that party or not". We consider that an offer of compensation would be inappropriate."

Nice eh, for simply trying to order a new PC, I have used 3 days holiday and have nothing to show for it.! Sorry to vent here but just wanted to let people know how I was treated. May be a one off. >:(

I always have my stuff delivered to my work address, unless (like the other day) it was a heavy item that would not go in the car, a Shed :D

Some companys won`t do that for credit card orders they`ll only go to your registered c card address. Mesh is like that.
