DVD+R/W to DVD-R or DVD+R

What is the easiest way to convert a DVD+/R/W to eDVD-R or DVD+R. I guess you can`t just copy as the files will be the wrong type?

Is this the wrong forum for this subject? I`ve done loads of DVD-RAM to DVD-R but I`ve a few DVD+R/Ws from my Mico I want to convert.

You just copy the files from one to the other.. .so long as they`re not CSS copy protected etc

But + R/W has a different file structure, doesn`t it. However I`ll give it a go. Normally I use TMPGenc Author to do RAM, but can`t get it to work with R/W.

You probably just need to finalise the DVD+RW first.

I don`t have the Mico now, is there another way I can finalise it?

You don`t finalise +RW. Ever. It`s supposed to be DVD standard compatible.

+RW has a filing structure that differs from +R to enable standalone players to read the disc any time. +R has a temporary table of contents file that gets written to until the disc is finalised when a copy of the final contents is written to the lead-in of the disc.

You should be able to do a straight drag-and-drop from one +RW to another (via your hard drive). Failing that, you might be able to reauthor the disc using something like Ulead DVDMovieFactory 4.

A data DVD is NOT same as a Video DVD so no, copying files across does not always work. The reason is on a video DVD, the VOB files is sequential over the disc sectors. Also, the format (-R or +R) does not have any bearing on the layout of the files.

I have used DVDShrink in the past to make a new copy of a +RW from my Mico, but setting in a new start\finish end points & then burned the new files to a +R.

My job got a lot less stressfull when I realised I hate my customers.
