Page 1 of Can anyone identify the new Scan 2500

Scan.co.uk have a new player, the SC-2500. It doesn`t look like a TYT player, though it is a DVD-Rom based one by the looks of it, and the remote seems vaguely familiar.

Can anyone identify it - is is a rebadged new thing or a rebadged old thing? I note the scan logo is pressed into the steel cover too.

I`m expecting a 2500 for review and as usual will answer as many questions as I can once it`s arrived !

I know for a fact though that it`s not a TYT player. No further details at the moment though.

Not manufactured by tyt.Its uses a similar loader to the sc2000 but uses
a zoran 36732 sanyo chipset.Specs on www.zoran.com.Additional features compared to sc2000 is karoeke and a dolby and dts decoder
on board.Specs are very similar to sc2000.On sale on monday.Special price if for dvd reviewer people will be £109 plus vat but you MUST mention dvd reviewer.Dan bates from reviewer will have one on tuesday for testing and any reviews we get will be posted on our site.

Can we please avoid another slanging match between Nelley and everyone else, please? I get bored seeing the same Scan threads floating around for ages.
Surely, all we need to know is the following:

1: Nelley will state how many items sold.
2: Everyone else will comment on poor customer service
3: Nelley will say that they have improved/are about to improve
4: Everyone else will say "what about the firmware upgrade/free DVD you promised to send 5 months ago"
5: Nelley will say "haven`t you received it yet?"
6: Everyone else will say "of course we haven`t"
7: Occasional people will say "I`ve had a Scan for ages and it`s been fine"
8: Other people will say "Aha - wait until you need to contact customer services"

....and the thread will dribble on for ages.

So is it any good then?

And we have all just read the first page.........the story will get more miserable as the book unfolds....

Was looking to purchase both a DVD player and Karaoke machine seperatly, but this sounds like the answer.
Does the karoake sound good ?? I owned a SC2000 before i swapped it for a PS2 and had no problems with this so i have no concerns with the DVD player side of things.
