Pioneer dv-444 and Planet of the apes(2001)

Is any one else having troubl with this disk? I get 6 minutes to the end and the whole thing just stops, it wont let me resume from where it stopped...I was wondering if this was a side effect of the nuon technology, that is present on the disk.

Any Help would be great

thanks

Well after the astounding amount of replies i received...*ahem* It turns out the disk was at fault and not the machine.

Again thanks for not even bothering to answer to my question..

Nice to know that Memento as I`ve just purchased a DV 444 myself.
It really looks the db`s and seems to play everything well (except Mini-DVD).

Memento - it seems that not that many people have the Pioneer 444k as only one person replied to my layer-change problem (a very helpful one though I`m glad to say!).

I only got mine last week, and if you read my thread you`ll see I have a layer-change problem (timed at 1.7 seconds). Have either of you guys noticed any problems with layer changes??

Mark,

I just tried Gladiator and I got about a half second pause in chapter 14 at the layer change. I haven`t noticed it on any other discs yet, but I haven`t played that many.

To be honest, I have yet to own a DVD player that doesn`t give layer change pauses on some discs, and it doesn`t put me off the DV444 given all the other features.

Mine is the DV 444S (silver) model by the way.

Cheers

Thanks Jez

I could handle a half-second delay, but as I said mine is 1.7 seconds and you are about the 4th person to confirm to me that theirs is 0.5 seconds so I`m fairly convinced I have a faulty player.

I`m going to liase with Techtronics about this - I`ve heard good things about their customer support so now its time to put that to the test! :)

Cheers

Could you try and borrow another copy of the disc and try it, just in case the disc is faulty?

Well, I get the same delay on the Godfather Part II so I`m pretty sure. Furthermore, my Wharfedale machine plays the disc with no problem at all - not even a slight pause.

Cheers anyway
