Wheres th chepest place to gt an ipod these days?
Tut tut, you`re only supposed to post if you`ve FOUND a bargain in `ere.
HOWEVER, I just got an (e) mailer from Richer Sounds, and they`re offering them for £229 - they`re on the website at that price.
Richer Sounds iPod
Amazon are doing the new 4th generation 20GB model for £215.I got mine last week and very nice it is too.
Apple UK are selling the 4th generation 20 gig iPod for £219, that price also includes laser engraving
You are mad get a creative zen extra juke box with 30gb for around £180---the battery lasts for 14hrs per charge and you can replace it if needed--unlike the ipod--don`t be a slave to fashion!
HardwareGeeks.com has posted an url="www.hardwaregeeks.com/articles.php?action=show&showarticle=286"]iPod review[/url] by a self-confessed Apple-hater, whose experience with the iPod has made him thinking about getting a Mac: "I guess in the end I am not much of an Apple hater after all. I honestly have no real complaints about the iPod and it`s a spectacular product. If the iPod is any indication on the quality of products Apple has to offer then maybe they are worth the high price so many people criticize Apple about."
tbh, i very seriously considered getting an i-pod, both for ease of use and good looks/design, but untill they can either offer better battery life (the standard battery won`t get me through a full day) or an easilly swappable (sp) spare battery at a reasonable price, i`ll either go for a zen, or stick with my nokia 6230 (battery lasts 2 days without charging, + i allready have 2x256 + 1x128 meg memory cards & the sound quality is superb)
just imho
general nobody @ www.dvdreviewer.co.uk and now www.x-disk.com/viewforum.php?f=41 for all things X-BOX
Apple are now claiming that the new 4th generation iPods will last for 12 hours of one charge, that`s such a good improvment i`m going to sell my 3rd gen 40 gig and replace it with a new one, style and a decent battery life.....at last
Hello
If you`re going to spend 229 on an ipod, you might consider getting an iRiver iHP-140. It does everything that the ipod does plus you get
40 gb
16hrs battery playback
Records straight to mp3 (any bitrate) or .wav via optical and analogue line inputs
Has a built in microphone and an input for a external one
Plays mp3, ogg, wav
Can transfer and store any type of data
Displays .txt. files...
...and, yes, it has a built in FM radio.
Is that enough for everyone? :)
I bought one last week and it`s one the best pieces of kit I`ve ever forked out for. Did I mention that it also looks gorgeous? Black and silver, all metal.
If you`re interested, try Amazon. They`re doing it for 250.
Cheers and luck

Hi Trentculp - Nice to here someone has one. I sold one the other day at work. Looks nice and features are superb. Not had a good look as its in sealed box!
I just have a few questions to help me sell a few more ( I dont like the Ipod!)
Have you tried recording direct from hi-fi? Is it easy?
How easy is it to use and transfer files from PC? Any software to convert CD`s to MP3?
What are the good and bad points?
Any info appreciated
