I need a cheap small multiregion dvd player. Anyone know of any bargains?

tripodjw (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 9th June 2004, 12:48

I need a small dvd player for a bedroom. It needs to be small as it`s got to be stored away between uses.

Anyone know of any bargains out there having the following features:

Multiregion (out of box or unlimited remote hackable)
RGB Scart out
Ability to play DVD-R/DVD+R (and MP3 cd`s if possible though not essential)
Small in size (i.e. portable but without a screen)
Cheap (Under £100)

I`ve seen a Philips DVP323 in Sainsbury`s but am not sure if its` multiregion as Amazon used to sell it and stated it was multiregion. Anyone know if this is worth a punt?

Hi there, Asda sells a dvd player from Pacific the model is a 1002, I think it costs about 40 quid, it can be made multi region with a remote hack, its a mp3 player def plays dvd-r scart out and also dts. Hope this helps, I`ve had one for nearly a year and it plays like a dream, plus with Asda you get a 3 yr warranty for nowt.

I take it that you need an very small portable, not just a cheap DVD player.

Sainsburys have a very small player, like the size of a 12" Powerbook, no screen, for £50, cannot remember the make, but will post here again after my next visit.

Or you could pop over to www.play.com - in there electrical section they have a multiregion Joytech one, for £79.99.

Good Luck !

If only everything was half price at Woolies !

ok richer sounds have the ronin 215 for £25.00, really good value for money, and small in size, not multi-region but can be hacked.
