Sky and my TV not compatable

taff (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 23rd February 2004, 21:04

I have a multi system 28" tv bought in canada. It works ok with my dvd player, freeview box, ps2, and uk terestrial tv programs. When I plug in my sky digi box the picture colours fluctuates from light to dark, when connected through the phono sockets or through the tv arial socket. The picture is fine through my uk bought tv. Help

Sky digital should be viewed through a scart lead :/

No scart available through my tv, tried a scart to rgb/ left/ right adaptor and scart to video s but still the picture fluctuates.

Try composite video

As Taff says, the American TV won`t have a SCART as it is a european connection. An RF connection won`t work either, as the USA TV will not accept a PAL RF signal.

Try using your scart to phono cable again, but make sure that you set the SKY box to output composite video instead of RGB as RGB cannot be sent down a SCART-phono cable.
