Oh My God!! - SCAN-dal

Scan customer services has just gone downhill recently. After spending two days phoning/emailing them to convince them I had actually purchased a Scan dvd player in Spetember 2000, I was told that it would take a couple of days to send me a new player. A week and a half later, I`m still waiting.

Emailing Scan - don`t bother since no-one responds

Online customer services - its like getting blood out of a stone

Telephone - my god, if don`t get an engaged tone, after waiting for about ten mins, they cut you off!

Mind you, if you want place an order, no problem. Straight though.

Poor, poor service.

too right

These guy`s gave me loads of hastle aswell.

They seem to have the policy of please sir,yes sir what ever you want sir when buying something

But who the hell are u , what you want , go away when you want to talk to customer services.

any body else had poor poor service from scan

If you need anything done with your Scan I suggest e-mailing Nelley or Wesley.

Too be honest I don`t know whats happened to Nelley. He used to post daily on the forum.

I did have some trouble getting through on the phone, but when I did I got my machine sorted out no problems. Took 4 days, but that was because they were awaiting a shipment themselves.

We buy lotsa stuff from Scan; buy no problem but if you want to return an item with a problem then you get loads of hassle.

They give you one story then change their minds and so on.

ALWAYS get a name/record conversation and try to pay with credit card.
Insist on your rights!

My experience says that when this starts to happen it`s a sign that the firm is in trouble-over-expansion and so on.

That is not relevant to this thread or interesting or any consequence to the original post. You sound very happy with whatever you bought. It makes me wonder why you are reading and contributing to a thread about a problem that is nothing to do with you.

Yeah, but Bear when you do need to use it (and you will one day) do you think a big international company like Sony are going to -

1. listen to you (I wish they would then you wouldn`t bother us)
2. send discs to the factory so that they can be made to work via free
firmware upgrade
3. Give you a brand new replacement player with free NEXT DAY
DELIVERY if anything goes wrong

Thought not!

I KNOW that Scan DO all of the above. To Sony you are just another consumer out of millions - but of course you are "The BEAR" everyone listens to "The BEAR" (well we don`t get a choice).

Yes, actually, come to think of it My Sony TV was crap and only lasted about a year. It took weeks to get a repair man and the repair only lasted a few months. Then the Sony tape deck I`d bought decided to stop playing tapes. Crap really. It certainly made me think twice about buying any more Sony gear.

scan owners have the memory of a goldfish,so here it is again , the bolton boomerang service centre.
