Page 1 of DVD recorder under £200

Was talking to the manager in my local WH Smiths and he said he had been to a meeting about this years xmas products and they have brought a load of dvd recorders and they will be priced under £200 can anyone confirm this?

He must be mistaken. The only low priced DVD Recorder that will be in the High Street will be a Bush model currently listed in the latest Argos catalogue at about £297.
If you wait till Xmas 2004 then it might be under £200.
On 2nd thoughts if the Panasonic E50 continues to drop in price at its present rate, I can see it being priced at about £230 - £240 (on the net) by Xmas 2003.

There will be a player for uncer £200 by xmas buy a big company,even more interesting is a DVD recorder and hard drive with twin freeview digital decoders for £350 to be released in september!

I heard Sainsburys will be selling a Mico DVD+R/RW this year. Not sure of price though.
