Oops, yeah I have something to help. Forgot about it after the initial post though. It`s not a hack per se, rather a remote that I bought from eBay that permanently changes your player to multi-regional. I have a Sony DAV-DZ300 and it worked perfectly.

Hi, you say it worked fine on your Sony DVD player. Was it as easy as pressing the red button on the remote and 10 seconds later it done??? did you send the remote back and get your 4 quid cash back? and do you know where i can find out more about using a PDA to hack my DAV-DZ410 as I too have been trying to get answers on how to go about doing this as you can see here

Well once I`d worked out the printed instructions sent to me it was that easy, it was less than 10 seconds as well. It works fine and I can now get rid of the `spare` cheap player I bought a few years ago to play R1 discs and can now play them with 5.1 if the optioni s there on the discs.

I didn`t send the remote back because I figured that a tenner to free up my DVD player was well worth it.

No idea about the PDA thing though...

Hey nice one for the advice on the remote. I took a chance on it. Ordered it yesterday, arrived this morning (super fast delivery). When i was carrying out the instructions the things that should have happend didn`t (i.e. Message on the DVD player `Timer Ok` or `Successful`) but R1 dvd`s work non the less! so its great! Thank you once again!

Hmm... I`ve been gone a few days, so I didn`t see your response until now... Thanks though, I will have to try to find that remote somewhere, as the link you gave me was "gone"... Thanks for the advise though, I hope it`ll work on my dvd player as well....

just search it on ebay again! they sell every 5 or 6 days i think. just type in `Sony DVD Hack`, that should bring up the same remote for you!
