Page 1 of Allan Verth - help with phillips 701/711?

My mates got a 701/711 and Ive looked at the hack for all the phillips models on this site. The instructions are for a one for all remote version 4, can the same be achieved with a version 3? it has 4 digit setup codes and a magic button but nothing that looks like the second 3 digit code in the hack. Dont really want to bugger the player so any help (inc background on what RC6 is etc.) would be VERY much appreciated....

the oneforall has to have the abiltity to control a philips DVD using setup code 0539......(check it is functioning by putting the DVD into standby, using the remote)

Now you need to press MAGIC (once) then 0, 8 nd 5..this will bring up the "dashes" on the DVD display.......

just enter the code..press PLAY..and away you go..

(RC6 is a type of infra-red command, by the way!)
