Ive also got a set and have to say theyre plenty loud enough for a medium size room... they may not be as good as if you spend several hundred quid BUT the difference over not having a setup at all IS amazing :-)

Allan Verth - help with phillips 701/711?

My mates got a 701/711 and Ive looked at the hack for all the phillips models on this site. The instructions are for a one for all remote version 4, can the same be achieved with a version 3? it has 4 digit setup codes and a magic button but nothing that looks like the second 3 digit code in the hack. Dont really want to bugger the player so any help (inc background on what RC6 is etc.) would be VERY much appreciated....

www.anandtech.com do in depth reviews on a lot of technical gear, so you can check them out for info too (there is a logitech digitheatre DTS bundle too its about $399)

A couple people have said that the moviemaxx bundle is pretty s***e - but it all depends what you can afford. Have you checked out amp/speaker bundles like creative labs dtt 3500 and the teac powermax 2000. Theyre sort of meant for computers/budget home cinema.

Hi hope you dont mind me joining in but I was looking at that amp and speaker combo from richer sounds too. Did your mate like the setup? How good does it sound with Audio CD`s ?

RE: MP3 CD-R Burning

Ive had the same problem, my MP3 player plays the tracks in the order theyre burnt. NIVZ, how do you control the burn order in EZCD 4? When I burnt a CD the MP3`s werent in the order that they were added to my CD image OR in alphabetical order! (the track I added first AND was first alphabetically ended up as track 88!?)

Any help would be much appreciated.

RE: To Jezababe. Did you buy the NAPA MP3/VCD CD-player?

Ive got one, its a bit of a mixed bag, the battery is a special, built in one (apparently hard to get hold of but I havent tried) and it only lasts for a couple of hours, which is a shame when youve got several albums worth of music. Sound playback is ok.

For more reviews go to the message boards on mp3.com and search under dav or 309. There are some comprehensive reviews there.

Bush Offer from Argos - Any good?

Argos are offering a bush dvd player and a set of 6 speakers for £300!

This sounds suspiciously cheap to me (assuming the player has a DD Decoder)

Has anyone had any experience with it? I found one mention of their 2004 model which said it was pretty rubbish?
