Ebay worries...

Kain^ (Competent) posted this on Saturday, 20th April 2002, 14:44

hi,
i`ve just bought Training Day off Ebay for the strange buy it now price for £8.00. when the seller has contacted me his Shipping address is in Malaysia, so i am now worried about 2 things: -

1. it being a dodgy Malaysian R0 copy
2. Not recieving it at all.

i`ve sent him an e-mail asking him weather it is R0 or R1(Original).

but IF i recieve the item and it`s R0 what leg do i have to stand on becasue of this Malaysian address.

Kain^

PS. The auction sez it`s a R1 with all the extras: -

Well I`d certainly ask him why his location is listed as "United Kingdom" when he`s really in Malaysia!

I wouldn`t worry, though, at least not yet. His feedback record so far is impeccable - if he was passing off R0 pirates as genuine R1 product (or failing to send the discs), I`m sure there would be a few negative comments in there.

well i`ve contacted a guy from his feedback profile who aslo bout training day and said they are R0 copies but are exactly the same as R1 (feature, sound and picture wise) now i`m torn.

wether to just pay and promote Copyright infringment, or don`t pay and loose out on a cheap dvd...

You need to ask yourself - do I want to pay over the odds for a possible (seemingly very likely) pirate copy. (I just checked movieshop and its on there with the same specification for $9.95 delivered).

THE GUY IS SELLING PIRATE GOODS AT INFLATED PRICES TO UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE.

Has anyone got a bargepole I can borrow?

(You might also like to mention it to Ebay)

well if its exactly the same as the region 1 disc then £8 dont seem too bad.

Sh*t im getting worried now. This appears to be the same bloke that i have bought the one from on the website
http://bagusdvd.tripod.com
Im becoming worried that mine might be copied as well

I wouldn`t pay as he wasn`t selling the product he advertised for, I would get it form Play instead, with the safedoor voucher you can get it for £10.

This will be a pirate. They`re ok - everything works - but I`d buy the real deal......

I doubt he`ll be on Ebay for much longer - have you checked out his other auctions?

Anyone want to buy boxes of 200 cigarettes? He`s only got 45 packs of each of those to sell. Cigs being in Ebays "These products are banned from being sold" list.

Dont buy from them you will only be dissapointed by the quality and wish you did not send the money.
