RE: Is there no shame

I think 2 1/2 is too young to worry about it. At that age, it's just nice sounding rythmic sounds, pretty pictures, and a handful of nonsense words. The usual worry is the embarrassment of toddlers repeating 'naughty' words in polite company without knowing the meaning. It's not their fault. The rest of it sounds like value judgements applied by adults and older children to a wholly innocent and thoughtless (in a good way) toddler. The only thing I remember from that age is falling down the stairs and hitting my head, although that might be the reason. Hell, my parents used to take me to grown-up movies in the cinema and they tell me that I'd just sleep through them.

The time to start setting boundaries is in twelve to eighteen months, when he's in nursery, pulling girls' pigtails, asking questions about gender differences, developing a sense of right and wrong beyond "They shout at me, so I shouldn't do that".

Just my wholly unqualified opinion.
