Page 1 of Postal question

Hi Folks,
Anyone know what the deal is for undelivered stuff for commercial addresses over the Christmas holiday.
i ordered some stuff from DVD Pacific and got it sent to my works address - it`ll be a big package, and I was going to be away for the week before Christmas anyway.
HOWEVER, it hasn`t arrived yet and our office is now closed until the New Year.
Will the PO hang on to it until then or will they send it back ?

We generally hang on to it if we know you are closed over the xmas period. If you are not there and the they do attempt delivery, then you may get a red card saying it has been taken back to the depot. If it is recorded delivery then they are kept for 1 week whilst all other items are kept for 3 weeks (why this is i don`t know),
Exceptions are made this time of year and so i wouldn`t worry about it being returned yet.

Are there postal deliveries sunday this week ?.

My Mrs` Christmas present hasn`t arrived yet, in spite of me ordering it two bloody weeks ago. It was shipped 13th and still no sign of it. I`ll be mighty p***ed off if it doesn`t arrive in time.

I heard that there are deliveries on Monday, but they aren`t working all day (can`t blame them) so they might be slightly limited deliveries. Not sure if it`s in every area.

No deliverys at all on sunday from Royal Mail. We are working as normal on monday.
I`m still waiting on 2 parcels from Amazon. They where sent monday with a Super Saver Delivery Carrier. 1 of the items was sent seperate on tuesday and i got that on thursday.

I`m waiting for a dvd from hmv that was despatched on the 14th, a cd from cdwow that was sent on the 17th, a dvd boxset from deepdiscount despatched 13th, a dvd from dvdpacific that were despatched on the 12th. theres a couple of things that have been bought for me that are also still to arrive. Its not looking good

It`s pretty bad when first class post takes two weeks, regardless of the time of year.

I must be living in some foreign country! :o
