"Black Watch" play on BBC2 Scotland tonight (Monday)

girders (Competent) posted this on Monday, 27th August 2007, 10:56

"Black Watch" is the play by the National Theatre of Scotland that took the Edinburgh Fringe by storm in 2006 and has since toured Scotland to sell out audiences. It tells the story of a group of Black Watch soldiers who have left the army following a tour in Iraq.

It is an incredible piece of theatre but I`m not sure quite how it will translate to the small screen - this is a filmed performance of the play, not a TV adaptation.

If you`d ever be likely to see the play live, I`d not recommend watching this as it could ruin the experience, but if you`re unlikely to ever see it in a theatre it should be well worth seeing on TV.

This is only on BBC2 Scotland tonight at 10pm so those of you elsewhere will need to use the option of watching it on Sky (Channel 990) if you can. I`m not sure if you can get regional BBC2 on cable.
