WOOLWORTHS MIX UP MAKES MY DAY

tiklyrixx (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 15th November 2001, 15:32

I thought that i might try and buy a dvd from a store instead of the net, and im glad i did. I went to buy "family guy: series one" from woolworth and it was priced £19.99, not bad i thought so i brought it. But when i got the counter they only charged me £9.99 for it!!!!

I cant believe it, i got the dvd for cheaper then i would from play, due to a very stupid cashier. I contemplated saying something, but i thought id let them work it out for themselves.

Buy the way, its the funniest thing ive ever brought

One ime I brought a DVD from HMV, can`t remember what it was. Anyway, the bloke put my DVD in the bag and then put 7 years in Tibet Video and a Dance CD in the bag along with it! I didn`t buy either and only paid for the DVD, the CD is brand new and still in the chart, I didn`t say anything and sold the video and the CD in another shop!

The pride you both take in your own dishonesty is pathetic!

Was contemplating buying Family Guy from a `shop` too, but got scared because I hadn`t been to one for so long!
Everywhere online seems so have sold out already & it`s only £2 cheaper at play anyway.
I have only seen 1 episode but thought it was hilarious so was gonna wing it. It was the one where the fat guy tries to run away from the grim reaper to which he replies "come on I caught Flo Jo, so I can catch you!"

Is this the standard of humour throughout the series?
If so, I`ll go buy it tomorrow, from one of those new-fangled shop thingies (& hopefully get the same dim cashier).

I got ripped off enough from stores already with their high prices, and it`s not like it`s a small independent shop, it`s HMV!

l agree with bear. You guys are just common thieves who justify your greed by blaming shops who charge prices you dont like.

Losers

Woolies seem to be a haven for dim-witted cashiers. A mate of mine picked up Enter The Dragon(Un-cut) and it had a 9.99 sticker on it.But when it scanned for 16.99 the cashier just voided the transaction and gave him it for 9.99. She didn`t even check it out. Why is it when you go into one of these high street shops they don`t know there arse from there elbow. Are all the "specialists" disappearing??

If an item is priced wrongly then most retailers are obliged to sell you it at that price, I went into comet to buy some phono barrel connectors, they were priced up as 99p, £1.09 and £1,49. I took the two 99p ones and when I got to the till it came up £1.49, he changed it to 99p.

I dont know where the law stands on this, I think they have to honour the price that is on the goods unless it is stickered stock, maybe someone else on here knows
