Licensing Objections Template

Batavia (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 15th November 2005, 16:57

Thank to idiot Blair, the three nightclubs opposite have applied for extension until practically dawn. At the moment it is 2.30am, and that is too much.Hence I am on the computer until all hours due to the noise as they leave. don`t tell me about council complaints. Done that. Useless. Residence association. Useless.
Anyway, I want to complain about granting an extension. It is not a easy as it sounds. Tried hopelessly before (residents don`t matter). A "correct" objection has to be sent.
Any idea as to where I might find a Word template (etc) of some sort?

I think you may have missed the point they dont need to apply for an extension, this is a once only application to extend their opening hours, it solves the need for them to apply each month for special licences.

With regards to objecting, i am afraid you have left it too late the law changes next week, so the licenses will have been granted already... all premises wanting to apply had to get their applications in some weeks ago.

It may not be as bad as you think, this will be monitored closely by your local Police Licensing Department (thats if you want to write/talk to them... as you seem to hate the police?) ;) .

Many of the clubs pubs locally to me have applied for extended hours, but they will only be using them where they would have applied for an extension historically!

At the end of the day, market economics will dictate whether or not they will stay open or not...

Just because they get a licence extension don`t mean they will be open later, closing times may be specified in the original planning permission, and that takes priority over the licence.

Whatever it is, the note on the door says that all objections have to be in by December the 15th.

I didn`t buy, it is council. I never wanted to move here, but had to (very long story). Also when you visit the three clubs are totally undetectable from the outside. They are situated in an old warehouse which, during the day, is a furniture and antiques place. I had no idea they were there until the first night I moved in. Heart sank.
