How do i get my daughters passport signed, please help? :(

richardbradley66 (Competent) posted this on Friday, 5th March 2004, 20:21

We`re going away on holiday in a couple of months and my daughter needs a new passport. We have everything done but as she is now six years old and looks a little different from when she was two, i need someone to sign the photos to say that it`s a true likeness of her.
I cant get ANYONE to do this ! The doctors say it is no longer their policy, the police say they haven`t known me long enough, my solicitor says he wont put his "personal" details to any documents and i can`t get the teachers to do it either for the same reason! What can i do?......please help!!

Melanie.

Do you have any friends or family that are Civil Servants?. I got my boss of 3 months to sign mine for me. It just has to be a proffessional person and not one that has worked with/taught you. Hope you get it sorted mate, i had a right carry on with my passport. I think it`s rediculous that a teacher won`t do it, what harm could it possibly do?

Regards
Bryan

Family are not allowed to sign it.
I got my Driving instructor to sign it, as I`ve known him 10 years. (As work friend and instructor)
My pharmacist could sign it for me, but doesn`t have her own passport, and they have to have one. :(

A licensed Engineer (c`est moi) can do it, anyone with a "Charter" ie Accountant ( have a friend who is one, did mine).

I`m sure Senior Nurses may fall in that category but don`t quote me but i am sure they are regarded as professionals... then also what about the Cop`s ?

Hope it helps.

For a kid`s passport they need to have known the adult who signs for the application, not the child.

http://www.passports.gov.uk/faqs/faq.asp?strAreaNo=321_1&intelement=150

In the case of a child Section 10 should be signed by someone of the relevant standing who has personally known the person who signs the declaration at Section 9 rather than the child).

The Passport Agency`s website gives you a list of people who can sign it. Anyone with a degree can do it, someone who works for a council (local government officer), a manager of a limited company or even your local postmaster/mistress. BTW nurses can sign it as they`re specifically mentioned as one of the categories.

To be honest it`s harder to find somone who can`t sign it, than someone who can :D The one thing you`ve got to watch is finding someone who`s willing to put down their own passport number, but that list should give you some inspiration.

Send it to me - I`ll sign it for you (as a permanent civil servant), and of course I know you and your family personally....
