Going to the Big Apple this monday, advice on where to go (and where not) stuuf to take and most important DVD`s to bring back :0)

Do the boat trip round Manhattan, takes 2-3 hours and is well worth it. A visit to Ground Zero, Empire State Building, Broadway, Central Park and Times Square are essential.

I was there this time last year, and I wish I was back now. It`s great - especially at Christmas. Go and see the famous outdoor ice rink at Rockafella Plaza, shopping in Maceys etc..

The cruise is excellent too!

Macys does a thing for international visitors. Take your passport or driving license, and got to the visitor centre in the store (I presume NY has one, San Francisco does).

You`ll get an 11% discount on anything you buy.

DVD`s are cheaper online than they are in NYC (unless you`re prepared to trek over to the lower west side).

Although around Times Square theres always the pikeys selling pirates for $10 out of a blanket......

Well am off to the Big Apple in the morning.

Don`t just stop at DVD`s, go the whole hog and buy Jeans and Trainers too :D

The open-air Ice Rink is supposed to to be real fun. The weather on the whole is just as cold as here. They`ve had snow in the last couple of days but its now melted and its like spring (or so I hear).

If you`re going with a lady friend then you might want to take her to the Century 21 store - it`s right across the road from the former World Trade Centre and is rammed full of absolute bargain clothes - all designer labels at silly prices. It`s good if you`re after some Calvin Klein boxers for yourself too.
Other than that go up the Empire State Building (do it at after dark), have a wander round Central Park and a skate on the ice rink there.

gr8est place on earth, im goin december 29th for a week. but was lucky enuff to go when the twin towers were up. People have noted the big things but go for a carnegie hall sandwhich! amazing!

Thanks guys, another question.... Im flying on Virgin do you know if I can take a Gameboy or a portable DVD player on the flight........and how do I get them to upgrade us to first class for free???
