I know the film`s supposed to be utter mince `n all that, but wasnt it supposed to be released tomorrow (aug 15th)??? Now it seems to be October 17th.

Am I the only one who thought this or is my brain completely frazzled??

No, I thought it was out pretty soon. Maybe they`re looking at the initial response over there and making changes. doubt it tho.....

AFAIK, some very bad reviews led Fox to put back the UK release date to mid October. The only people who get it later than us are the Turks. From what I`ve seen of the movie, it looks like a barrel of fun - possibly on a par with Pirates of the Caribbean (which I haven`t seen yet either).

I have an open mind - everything goes in one ear and out the other.

I found LXG to be a rather rousing and enjoyable film. The heroes are all likable and are well cast. The action scenes are very good, though edited too hastily. For a 72 year old, Connery can still kick major ass. Some of the effects work were awful, but this is a minor blotch on what was a very entertaining experience.

The characters are excellent. The Invisible Man is a mischievous delight, Mina Parker is note perfect, Dr Jekyll nicely portrays his inner conflict with his alter ego. Captain Nemo- How shall I put this intelligently. He's KICK ASS. A butt kicker and an expert swords man. Possibly the coolest character. Tom Sawyer was added for appeal for Americans, but nevertheless is a good and entertaining character. And Connery? He plays Connery. Simple as that.

Not at all bad. Worth a watch

Ok, you people! Sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we`re not back by dawn... call the president.
