can anyone suggest a decent digital video camera?

Decided to lay they old Sharp viewcam to rest and go digital - any suggestions on ones to avoid, must haves, or any bargains to be found?

I went looking as well and personally found the Sony DCR-PC120 to be one of the best I could find. I`ve not had a great deal of exposure to other cameras - but this thing seems to be absolutely fantastic. Picture quality is bloomin brilliant (broadcast quality) - and the digital stills are pretty good too. The guys in Jessops where I bought it said for the price range it was/is one of the best.

I think you can pick it up for about £800 or so now (online) or about £1000 in the shops

One more bit of advice - DON`T GO FOR MICRO MV!
The quality in comparison to Mini-DV is terrible

For some reviews - check out this link for a good list:

Hope that helps
