EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
Says it all really.
Therefore, I shall be out of touch with the WEA for an unknown period...damn shame.
RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
That`s a bummer mate, hope they give you a good package - if not, there`s always the contents of the stationery cupboard and any `spare` IT equipment that happens to be `lying around` on your last day!
RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
Sorry to hear that mate. Hope you find somthing soon.
And allthough you may not be in touch with the WEA we know you will keep up the good work.
All the best,
The 42%er.
RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
The WEA sends it`s condolences and will patiently await your return, Agent GregWW.
Good luck!
And remember,
The only good w*sps are dead ones!!
RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
Yes indeed Greg, best of luck mate!
RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
Horrible feeling - hope you get yourself sorted soon. Happened to me, but the whole company went into receivership, so we got nowt in compensation (except the statutory government allowances).
RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
In the course of an 18Month period the company I was with went thru 6 rounds of redundancies. This includes going into recievership at one point as well in which 350 people were punted without any redundancy cash other than what they could claim from the DTI. The company was bought out but then rounds 5 & 6 happened shortly after anyway! I`ve only been at risk in 4 of them but basically the company went from 1500 at its peak to 150 people (though its now swallowed up by a bigger yank company).
Fun fun fun! At least its stabled down a bit now!
RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
Greg, in sympathy for your position and sheer curiosity I have just read the entire Original Wasp Thread... now my eyes have gon all blurry, and I feel sweaty and a bit sick (although the lack of air conditioning could have something to do with that as well!)
Hope you are able to return to these forums real soon, and find yourself something to do that you enjoy! Remember that life is for living, and yes it may kick you in the teeth sometimes, but there are always sunrises, fluffy animals, finding things you thought you`d lost, your favourite food, sunshine, ducks, and a myriad other things to cheer you up.
As long as you can look at your life, and your tally of wasp kills, and know that you have had a good time - you`re a winner.
Keep safe, P.
RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
Wishing you nothing but the biggest bag of best wishes and good luck in the employment hunt mate. Happened to me twice so far, luckily before i got married and had a child. What an absolute B**tard of a feeling it was as well. Don`t be disheartened if you don`t get any replies back from the people you apply for jobs with, if there`s one with your name on, it`ll find you.
Seriously, the very best of luck to you (and your family if appropriate(?))

RE: EFFING GREAT...I`m being made Redundant!
Happened to me a couple of times, once at very senior level and I very much sympathise with how you must be feeling..
Without being condescending in any way, try to look at it as an opportunity ( albeit a forced one ) to move on, it`s happened, there`s no shame attached so look forward.
Try to be very positive and proactive in your job hunt and chase everything, even the ones you may not really fancy.
The more chances you make the more chances you will have.
I sincerely wish you every success

EDIT I believe there may be a vacancy as a manager at Tesco`s soon ;-)
