Getting rid of an old printer

Chris Wilkinson (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 22nd January 2003, 10:44

Does anybody know of a better way of disposing of old (and outdated) printers than just taking them to the local dump?
I`ve got two sat by my computer taking up space, and it seems a bit environmentally-unfriendly to just chuck `em.
Any USEFUL suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thank you.

(By the way, I`m in Norfolk if that makes a difference).

Try the local youth club/scouts/boys brigade et al. The printers may be old but if they still print then that might be good enough for them to phanny around with.
Failing that (if they work) give them to the local cancer research charity shop/ red cross etc.
Kudos / Karma ,or whatever else the jesus freaks might call it :-) , to you if you do.

I just got shot of my ancient inkjet. Just ask around if anyone has kids who are off to Uni - students will take owt for free (I should know, I only graduated in 2001!)

Or depending how ancient your kit is:
