what does everyone use to burn vcd`s.
I have been using nero but since upgrading to xp my hp usd re-writer is not compatible

Try updating Nero - there is XP update. This may resolve your problems.

Otherwise why not try going to the HP site and see if there is an update driver for your CD writer.

For back to back copying you can`t beat CloneCD - available for download on the net.

na, nero dont support hp writes under xp and there is no software from hp that would alter that, I would need software that could do vcds like nero

I always used Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 until I upgraded to xp at the start of the week.Now I have to use Nero which I just do not like.Are there any updates I can get to use CD Creator 4 as it real easy to use?

I use Nero 5.5. on WinME with my Memorex Twelvemaxx1032 and have had no problems. I have only used Nero to create a VCD/SVCD a couple of times so really don`t know how good Roxio is but the ones I have created on Nero have been relatively easy to create.I converted Futurama from my DVD to SVCD and the quality was not too shabby.

I use VCD Easy to make VCD/SVCD`s as its free and I make chapters on my discs with it. Not sure it will work with your writer but worth a try

For copying I use CloneCD

Fairly sure Roxio 4 is not XP compliant. It came with my PC but when I upgraded to XP it was a known issue and 4 was not supported. That`s why I had to `upgrade` to 5 platinum, cough-cough... Even 5 wasn`t at first - you had to download a patch - maybe that`s what the upgrade is on their site?
Everyone raves about Nero but `cos I`ve only ever used CD creator I think it`s far easier to use and better laid out (I looked for the `add` button for a while in Nero before I sussed you had to drag things across..) Don`t think you can create SVCD`s with CD Creator tho` - you can with Nero.

i used a converting program recently but cannot remember what it was. i`m pretty sure it changed it to a pcm file then into a mpeg file any ideas
