Who else is glad the English have lost?

AIGopher (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 21st June 2002, 10:32

I know I`m in a small minority but I`m glad the English have gone out.

They never looked like scoring today and I can`t remember a single save (apart from a defensive mistake) the Brazillian goalkeeper had to make.

The Brazillians were far superior man-for-man, you can not win games just by running around a lot, you need some level of skill and the English just don`t have it I`m afraid.

Sorry but "the truth always hurts" !

S`ok grunt boy. Two other threads posted by England supporters that also give the game away. May as well let them know of your displeasure too.

Well yeah I am glad england went out because I live in the f****** country yeah yeah I AM F***.....

Crazy bastard, anyway yes it was a disappointment we should have played much better against 10 men and created the chances to equalise but credit to brazil their defence was strong in the second half and we just dident seem able to put the passes together to create chances..... And please dont get me started on that second goal, Rivaldo`s goal was excellent, quality but that second was just unbelieveable you have to see it to believe it really its that bad...

Oh well, I guess we`ll just have to listen to another 4 years of "remember in 1966" - I think at this stage the English nation feels that 1966 was the key to unlocking the entire space/time continuem and that in many ways England just wouldn`t be England if they weren`t sucking a 36 year old teat dry. Keep those flux capacitors fluxing lads.

Now let`s just hope the English "fans" behave themselves and don`t decide to throw a temper tantrum.

As the person who posted the original thread, I suppose I`ve been "hoisted by my own petard".

But unlike some Irish supporters I`m not blinkered.

England didn`t deserve to win, they basically were not good enough and so I`m not too disappointed.

So I`m now going with Spain.

Adios amigos....

I`m glad they`re out, if only because now I won`t have to listen to Bobby Robson, Gazza and Ian Wright telling me every day how they`re going to win the world cup this year.
