Page 1 of Suggestion please: how to increase the volume on PSP

Please can someone suggest how to get more sound from the PSP. Some of my MP3`s are too quiet on the train, and trying to listen to a podcast was close on impossible without my hands over my ears last night. I am still using the supplied sony headset, so if that is a problem, can someone suggest a good (smallish) replacment.

I have (of course) set the volume to the maximum on the PSP.

Proper in-ear buds might be better Chris.

IE the Sony ear buds (EX71S IIRC)
Because they sit in your ears, and tend to block out other sounds you don`t need the volume as loud as you would normally.

I have to say that I`ve only listened to MP3s on my PSP once, but I don`t remember any issues with volume. (Can`t remember if that was on the train though!)

The volume is far too low, I agree. When trying to watch mp4 converted videos sometimes I struggle to hear what they are saying (when on the train home from work). It`s a real irritant, and I know you can get better earphones which might increase the volume, but I guess its pretty hit and miss knowing which ones will work?

I use the same earbuds as miles and the PSP is plenty loud enough for me (and im one of those twats you can hear coming a mile off in their car thanks to a stupidly loud car stereo).

If you get new headphones and its still too quiet you could batch process your mp3s and normalise the sound. Might take a while to process a lot of MP3s though.

I had trouble with the crappy limited volume on the psp`s generic headphojes, but i`ve just got some cheapy round-the back headphones from tesco and jobs`a`good`un. Loud as you like & crystal clear

Maybe the problem is not with the PSP, but with us slowly becoming deaf. :/ :(
