Hi there just recently arrived in the Alabama to study for a few months and of course needed the essentials i.e. xbox, however, i have tried numourous US based products which are stated to convert the voltage for such products yet i am yet to have any signs of life from the xbox itself. will i need to get an adapter from the uk which will convert down the power volatge to meet my requirements so i can actually listen to my music and play fifa and counter strike once again!! until now i`ve had to go and buy a laptop which i must say was a steal, not literally though! large memory, fast, dvd/cdwr and all the other technical mumbo jumbo for around 470 pound!! any way help would be widly apreciated as i`m missing soo much my xbox

cheers

Surely you need something to UP the voltage!!

UK = 230/240V
USA = 100/110V

I think you`ll need a generator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

I know over here you can get "StepDown" converters, but
I`ve never heard of a "StepUp" converter for consoles :/

Anyone know different?

Ste.

if you are there for a while and the g/tee has run out on the xbox you could buy a us power supply unit (internal) and swap it out, tho it may be cheaper to buy a second hand xbox over there :D

I TOAST, THEREFORE I AM.

Will the X-Box actually play on a US TV? US are very parochial about what is their normal standards & dont often allow for other standards like PAL output as inputs into their TV`s.
