Better buy those Fox DVDs and BDs now rather than later.

If you're still buying discs that is.

It turns out that now that Disney own what used to be 20th Century Fox (they've dropped the Fox), they're treating classic movies from the Fox label like classic Disney movies, stuffing them in the vault and not letting anyone see them, to bump the value up for when they are briefly let out to breathe.

The article is about theatrical prints, but what I've seen on other forums indicates that they are deleting Fox DVDs and BDs left, right and centre as well. If you haven't got Die Hard or Alien or Planet of the Apes, The X Men and a million others, better get them now.  And judging by how I've heard Disney treated the original Star Wars trilogy for the Skywalker Saga release, I wouldn't count on any favourable remasters or sympathetic 4k scans any time soon.

😱 My biggest fear is they go streaming only via Disney+.
