Yeah I questioned this in films that never happened thread (something like that anyway) a while back but no one said anything.

Probably for the best really, as it was going to be a reimagining starting from scratch.

Also I wouldn`t have been too interested in one that followed on from the last two series. Maybe they should have done what all good franchises do, and disregard the last two series of the tv show and take off from the cliffhanger from series 6. :D

Although this is the one instance where they could make it work because multiple realities have already been explored in the show and it doesn`t need to be taken too seriously, so obviously they won`t though:(

Edit- Rehan next your going to be saying that Firefly has been picked up for a new run of shows ;)

I think they ran out of funding for the film. If they cant do a film I would like to see the cliffhanger at the end of series 8 resovled

Hmmm, I don`t think I`ve seen all of series 8 then because I don`t remember a cliffhanger. :/

Am I right in thinking series 7 and 8 weren`t really that good compared to the series 1-6? Trying to decide whether it`s worth buying them ahead of 12,4,5,6 purely because I don`t remember them, and I`ve seen the earlier ones loads of times.

Series 8 saw them back on a reconstitued Red Dwarf. They were all put in prison. The last episode was a cliffhanger were Rimmer was trying to save the ship from being eaten by a virus. Rimmer is surrounded by fire, Death (Cloak - Skeleton, Scythe) stood over him. "Its Time"
Rimmer kicks him in the nuts. Death keels over.
"TO BE CONTINUED"

They really need to do something else, if not a move just make a new series! But please no cliff hanger ending if they do.
I found Series 7 & 8 often just as funny as the rest of the series`. 8 has 2 of my fav bits. "Have a fantastic period" & the "you havent heard the news" bits are great.

You say pyscho like its a bad thing

I remembered series 8 being a bit of a let down but having watched it on dvd recently I still like it. And series 7 has my fave red dwarf moment ever - Ace Rimmer riding a crocodile through the air, genius.

I`d say 8 is better than 7, the captain is brilliant too.
