Page 1 of Kill Bill Vol 1 release date change????

The people on countingdown.com seem to think the Vol 1 DVD has been pushed back to April along with the theatrical release of Vol 2. :(

Is this true, anybody????

No, Volume 2 will still be released on the 20th of February.

As for the DVD, I do not know. I might actually wait for the boxset this time anyway (would make a change ;) ).

Still, can`t wait to see Vol. 2. From what I`ve read (bits of the script) Vol 2 is nowhere near as violent as Vol 1, so it will probably only be a 15.

There were rumours that Vol. 1 had slipped to 1 March (from 9 February), but it now does indeed look like February is the right date. Vol. 2 is still on course for a 20 February cinema release, although it may slip a week to the 27th. (Whether it will be a 15 is a different matter - I wouldn`t count on it, especially if there is a final, big, showdown with Bill...as well as Michael Madsen`s Budd.)

As for the regions question, I would imagine them all to have the same specs, although R1 will probably carry more soundtracks (French, Spanish) so they will take up more of the bitrate. There is also NTSC judder to think about, so the PAL versions (R2 and R4) would have the better video quality. Perhaps base it on packaging if you still can`t decide, or then again there is price and availability to think about.

And I take it you managed to sneak in to Volume 1, Rik? (or perhaps saw it by "other means" ;) ).

Nope, still haven`t seen it. A mate managed to obtain a copy (erm...the mate is Mr Tarantino, so it was a perfectly legit screener ;-)), but he said it was of too low quality so there was no point. I will have to wait until Vol. 1`s DVD release.

It seems CD WOW have the Vol 2 soundtrack set for 19 April as well, so maybe it`s just the second part that will be delayed, not the the Vol 1 DVD.
