Page 1 of Predator ?

When is Predator being released over here in the UK ?

I know there is a real basic version out in the states. I wish Fox would make more of an effort with this film. Why cant there be a 2-disc set, like Terminator 1 and 2. If only.........

But what really annoys me is that things like SuperGirl, who lets face it nobody cares about either way, and Nosferatu ( Why?) get the double disc treatment, but movies like Blade Runner, Predator etc get nil.

Look at the effort they made with the Alien films !

Apparently it`s being released in the UK in June. Supposed to be same version as the newly released R1 except that it may not have the DTS soundtrack. I received my R1 copy last week and can highly recommend it. Forget the extra features, the remastered picture and DTS sound are awesome.

Well, its the film that counts I guess.........but there surely must be loads of stuff they could have used as extras

Does anyone know whether the Region 1 does, or the Region 2 will have the deleted scene of "Billy" and the Predator battling it out on the fallen tree? I`ve heard rumours of this scene. Is this true?

Not on my R1 copy as far as I can tell.

I have heard the quality on Predator is shocking as it was taken from a vhs source.

Absolutely NOT true. The quality is superb - both video & audio. The opening 20th Century Fox logo looks rough, almost as if it was taken from a VHS source, but as soon as the movie starts, the quality is excellent. I haven`t seen anything but excellent reviews for the disc, so don`t know where the rumours come from.

By the way, I have seen this on a 32 inch screen and 50 inch screen, so I would expect any quality problems to be very obvious - they usually are.

Buy it - you won`t regret it.

I have this film. Sound is awesome, picture not so good on my DVD player. I am using the Wharfedale 750 and get lots of shadowing all over the picture. Is this a problem that will be fixed if I get it swapped out for a 750s ? Region 1 disk.
