Can your machine play DVD-R discs? Please help....

Kayenta (Competent) posted this on Friday, 15th November 2002, 16:13

I am compiling a list of machines that successfully play dvd-r discs.

I would be grateful if people could input their make / model of machine.
Success or failed i.e.

PANASONIC DM452 = Failed. (Did not read)

Thanks

K

Alba 114 - successful with DVD-R and DVD-RW. (Verbatim and DataSafe brands.)

Samsung 709 (with 3.32A firmware) - successful with Verbatim and DataSafe DVD-R, failed with DataSafe DVD-RW. (The DVD-RW will load, but freezes regularly when you try to play it.)

Remember that it can come down to the media type used too. Verbatim or TDK DVD-Rs may work fine, but off-brand or unbranded discs might not.
