Just seen this advertised for next week at Lidl,whats interesting is that it can recordon DVD+ DL(8.5Gb discs)

Unforunately its only on offer at selected shops and they dont include where I live.

That is an amazing price for a DVD/160GB HD recorder that does DivX too - I think I`ve tracked down the official Targa 5100x page and it does seem to have all the features you`d need (OK, you might argue you`d want built-in twin Freeview tuners too, but what do you want for 150 quid?!).

Yes, I got all excited too - but the offer seems geographically limited.
Not for the likes of us SEasteners, I`m afraid :-(

Not sure where you are mate but here in Northern Ireland (the real edge of the empire) This recorder is on sale in Lidl from this Thursday but it is £200.

I know this is a bit off track but I have a question about connecting this DVD player to a TV.
I have been told to use component video cable to get the best picture on the TV, but that just sends the video not sound so question is what would be the best cable to get sound to the TV?

Use a good scart and set the DVD scart out to RGB. :) You will get the sound as well. :)

Thats if they have them in....a friend of mine works for lidls and he is fed up of them advertising stock then the stock not arriving...
