Hi

don`t know if this is new news but just been into a local KwikSave and spotted
amongst the usual electrical stuff a Medion 8 in 1 remote for just under 10 smackers.

Nice looking silver thing it is. :)

No specific mention - when you say 5.1 do you mean speaker systems, or integrated DVD player/speaker system ?

Which brand ?

Soz clayts, I was in a rush to get one as i posted the last thread :D

I`ve got a Sony DAVS300 (5.1etc) and was wondering if it could control
individual speaker volumes etc.

It`s a decent remote for the price, easy to set up, and i like the All Off
button :D

ta!

Thanks to Splintercell for original post - finally got a solution to my remote control woes!

Been looking for a decent 5+ way since before Christmas - almost bought a 10 way uni from TJ Hughes for a fiver, then saw an 8 way uni at Netto for £2.99 and took the plunge. Didn`t work out - not enough codes - fine with Panny TV and VCR, even worked the Philips DTR1500 Freeview box, but not my Compacks 5000 dvd or Denon receiver.

This Medion unit (MD4689) DOES have all the codes for the above, and will even learn extra functions to fill in any gaps. It hasn`t got an LCD, but the mode buttons light up to show what`s being controlled - it`s good looking and comfortable.

I thought I might have to take it back to Toys-R-Us because the keys looked a little cramped, but it`s actually not a problem. Best £9.99 I`ve spent in a while. Cheers.

Hi all,
I got one of the Medion 8 in 1 remotes ( Model # MD4688 ) when Aldi had them on sale last year.
The remote has been great so far but when the batteries ran out & I replaced them I found I now have a problem with the way the remote adjusts the volume of the TV.

Before the batteries ran out if you pressed the vol + or vol - the volume steadily increased or decreased as long as you kept the button pressed, but now you have to keep repeatedly pressing the button to turn the TV up or down.

I have tried reprogramming the TV code into the remote but this has made no difference.

Was just wondering if any one else had suffered this problem & had maybe found a cure for it, so I can get the volume control working the way it used to?

Regards, UB

Hey Uncle Buck!

I`ve just put some new batteries in my MD4689 and it has gone all screwy on me aswell!

It seems to have stopped transmitting repeated codes, so like you say, holding the volume key down doesn`t work any more - it has to be pressed repeatedly. This causes a problem with my TV on/off button too.

I`ve also completely lost any control of my Denon receiver (was code 781), and the learning function seems to be kaput too, so I can`t load it all up manually.

Bloody thing has ruined my weekend! Back to Toys R Us with it tomorrow I think!

Hi Guys

I bought one of these last year, but my 10 minth old son has gott hold of it an erased the code for my Daewoo VCR.

Can any one please supply the codes for the above.

Also if you have a original VCR remote that does not have a VIDEO plus button, because you didn`t pay the extra money for videoplus. Press teh Medion Videoplus button, you may be pleasently suprised.

Regards

Mick
