Encore Direct go completely bonkers - £5.99 DVDs : good uns too

http://www.encoredirect.co.uk (my favourite people) have literally lost the plot - they are virtually giving `em away.

Only problem is the vultures at DVD Times are circling and the Encore server is slower than Slowy McSlow, the slow thing from Slowsville.

However, I have a cunning plan.

Use `advanced search` type in the name of your fave actors and it`ll select all DVDs in their list and bypass the horrendously long list. If you click on `Buy` it may well come up with a CGI or Invvalid page error - simply type the name of the film EXACTLY as it appears in the search field on the left of the screen, the film should be selected and you can buy from there. Honest - it is quicker.

I`ve ordered Jurassic Park, Alien, Alien3, and X-Files Movie all at £5.99 each (yes they ARE DVDs not VCRs !!!) plus a total of £1.50 P & P.

Thanks for the info. Got Rising Sun, Speed, Idle Hands and The Larry Sanders Show for £25. Not bad. Nearly went for the Lost Boys as well, but I`ve got that on VHS somewhere and never watch it. I`m especially pleased with Rising Sun, been after that for ages and it`s still £16-17 everywhere I`ve seen.

Now if only Play would do the same with their R1 special editions...

When I go to the site all I get is this bullshit on the left of the screen and a repeat message when I try to acces the sight.

Whats going on?

Bear - you`re right, it`s a total test of patience and endurance, but stick at it - it`s well worth it, honest !

I ordered mine at 1.45am and it was slow, so I dread to think what it`s like now !

Right, just learned from Encore that their site is down until this evening, not surprisingly.

The DVD Times lot are all foaming at the mouth : 150 postings on the subject !
