Page 1 of Blockbuster Sale 80% off!!!!

Been into Burton upon Trent Blockbuster today - staff state they are having an 80% off sale on all `Retail` product (I would imagine up to 80%) on Wednesday 11th June 2003!
Don`t know if will be other stores - state it is because they make more on selling ex-rental than retail releases, so clearing the stock!

Considering their ex-rental prices, sometimes on stuff that`s available new in a local supermarket, I am not surprised...

But tempting if it wasn`t such a long trip...

Can anyone confirm this "sale" yet, I just asked in the Newbury branch and the girl said she didn`t know what was happening on Wednesday.

Yeah, It`s definitely happening.
I got a leaflet through the post this morning telling me so.

It`s a ten day sale starting from Wed 11th June.

The following savings are listed on the leaflet:

Men In Black 2 - £5.98

Minority Report - £7.98

Spiderman - £7.98

Lord Of The Rings:FOTR 2 disc edition - £7.98

..AND MANY MORE!!

Those titles have been at those prices for ages in my local blockbuster and to be honest they don`t sound like prices with 80% off!!!

Minority Report (2 Disk) - £7.98
ET (Special Edition 2 Disk) - £6.98
Star Wars Box set (Ep 1 & Ep 2) - £19.99
Jason X - £4.98
Unfaithful - £4.98
Outbreak - £5.98
The Animatrix (Not in the sale) £11.99

With staff discount this nice little lot came to just under £50.

Will be going back for more such as

Goldmember £5.98
Knockaround Guys £4.98

And loads more.

Just visited my local branch (Woking) and the sale has started Today. They have most of the stuff above (non Minority Report) plus spiderman for £7.98.

Yeah just popped into my local store on my way home from work totally unaware of this sale and was pleasantly surprised. Picked up Ace Ventura £4.98, Spiderman £7.98 and 51st State £7.98. I thought Spiderman was s***e but not so s***e that I wouldn`t spend £8! Getting some more titles tomorrow methinks :-)

Just over 25 pounds for 8 good movies, and bearing in mind these are all dvd`s, i`d call that a bargain.

And they were still pricing up other dvd`s while i was in there.
