Page 1 of Open all hours, series 1 & 2 - 9.99 at play

Is this a mistake? They quote the rrp as 12.99, whereas I believe it should be 19.99. Mind you, they give the title as Open all hours series 1, where it should be Open All Hours volume 1 (the description and release date match the latter).

Mind you, they make up for it by overstating the rrp for hi-de-hi volume 1 as 24.99 and charging 17.99 for it!

Other `Old Pap` i for one can`t wait for relase is the classic sci-fi series Blakes 7, i already have all for seasons on VHS, and the four feature lenghts, but rest assured as soon as they release on DVD i will be first in the queue!!!

According to bbcshop.co.uk it is the first series including the pilot and lasts 210 minutes. A bargain, even by Arkwright`s standards.

It`s not a mistake though - most etailers are selling at around the tenner mark. SplashDVD have matched play with this price too.

No, the BBC on is just series 1 +pilot. The version I thinkI am getting is the `playback` version, which is series 1 and 2.

Any other old pap people would like to see? How about the Wednesday Plays from the sixties (if they are not wiped) and all those Dennis Potter musical extravaganzas, Pennies from Heaven, The Singing Detective, Lipstick on you collar etc.?

I think Blakes 7 would be fun as well, Red Dwarf, its parody is out in November.

Those on Universal look like videos. On www.dvdpricecheck it looks like it will be 210 mins and be just Series One.

If that is the case (ie: it`s just series one), Play are misleading their customers.

By describing an item as being all episodes from series one and two, at 390 minutes and selling a lesser version, they`re going to get some serious complaints (if this turns out to be true.)

Here`s hoping that it is both series, as at a tenner it`s a good price.

Dunno if Play have updated their system, but it states quite clearly `series 1` on the title banner. The description gives a list of S1 episodes - but no cover pic yet.

The banner does say `Open All Hours - Series 1`

But it also says `This release features every episode from Series One and Two of Open All Hours. ` in the description along with the titles of all the episodes from BOTH series.

I tried emailing them, but did not get a coherent response so I have cancelled, pending them publishing a pack shot.

Apparently Universal Playback are releasing that wonderful John Sullivan sit-pap `Dear John` next month -anyone seen it yet?

Here`s hoping `Joking Apart` will finally appear...
