RE: HDMI Connections for PS3 and Sky HD

I work at currys and we sell a Logik HDMI splitter. It is a manually switched box that allows 4 connections to a single HDMI socket. It retails at £29.99. I believe there are other splitters on the market but this is the only one I`ve seen in the shops.

RE: Lost seasons 3 & 4 on Sky One - not Channel 4!!!

I`m glad its gonna be on Sky One because it means there won`t be an ad break every 5 mins like Channel 4 do. Plus anyone with Sky HD will get to see the show in HD. Season 3 will end up on Sky Three at some point, so those of you without Sky or Cable can catch it on Freeview.

RE: When Is Stargate Back On Sky?

I had heard it was the last season. I was disappointed when I found out but at the same time glad. They may as well end it while its still good. Some of the charcters will be going over to Atlantis anyway. Also I`ve heard rumors of a possible sequel to the movie.

When Is Stargate Back On Sky?

Its seems like I`ve been waiting ages for it to return. I`ve downloaded the first 2 episodes of SG1 but I dont have the time or patience to download all of them.

RE: Just me? Or is anyone else getting sick of all the HD ads on TV

I work at Currys and last month we had all our HDTV`s set up properly (they`re runninng from a hard drive through component). We have HD demos like the Superman Returns Trailer, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man`s Chest Trailer, Trailers for Xbox 360 Games. We also have a Telewest TV Drive Box running Telewests own HD Demo. For anyone that sees a proper HD demo and can`t see the difference then they need to get their eyes tested.

RE: Effing Currys !!!!

Manufacturer guarantees are very limited. Callout & labour are free during the 12 months, the down sides are, if you miss a callout and have to re-book most manufacturers will charge you for the next one. If they don't find the fault that was reported or it's not a manufacturing fault, they charge you, if it gets damaged they charge you. Considering that callout charges vary from about £40 to £80 just to come and ring your door bell, plus labour on top, `extended guarantees` can have their uses. Hotpoint Free Five Year Parts Guarantee only covers you in the first year for callout and labour charges after that every callout is gonna cost. Currys product support gives you a guaranteed callout within 2 working days, accidental damage cover, a replacement within 21 days of an engineers visit if it hasn't been repaired and there's only one number to call if anything does go wrong. The salesperson who tried to sell you the product support was just doing his job at the end of the day and trying to save you hassle in the long run. You could still complain to Dixons Stores Group (DSG) Head Office who own Currys but they will probably laugh at you.

RE: Hellraiser III uncut

Whoops wrong forum. Sorry

Hellraiser III uncut

I recently purchased the Hellraiser Lament Configuration Boxset from Play. Cool packaging, decent extras, DTS soundtracks, uncut presentations of each film. I`m very pleased with it overall, except the uncut presentation for Hellraiser III. The uncut/re-inserted material looks like it has been sourced from VHS with noticeable, distracting jumps in picture quality. Anchor Bay have done this in the past with Army of Darkness. Very annoying!

RE: Sky £65 callout charge

Well, the Sky engineer came out this morning, within 5 minutes it was fixed. What was the problem? The box had crashed. All it needed was a simple reboot. £65, I was without Sky for 5 days and it was fixed in 5 mins! He told me had I been paying cash he would have let me off, and I wouldn't have had to pay, but Sky insisted on the £65 upfront when I booked the service call. The best bit is after looking on some technical forums it seems that the problem (No Satellite Signal Being Received) was caused by a recent software update by Sky. >:(

Sky £65 callout charge

I am really annoyed, Sky are charging me £65 to come and look at my additional Sky box, that for some reason is not receiving a signal anymore. I know the box works fine, I`ve tested it. So it can only be the LNB or the cable itself. The last time they came out the didn`t charge, it was a faulty quad LNB which was changed to a dual LNB for free. £65 is a joke, they only cover you for 3 months after the callout, and had it been a faulty box, would have replaced it with a reconditioned box.

RE: The Butterfly Effect - anybody seen this yet?

I saw this film yesterday and its excellent, although alot of the subject matter is very grim

RE: ANYONE LEND THERE DVDS OUT?................WELL DONT.

I lent a friend my Lethal Weapon collection, they came back fine, a few creases on number 4, fair enough, crappy Warner cases, easy to damage. I then lent him a couple of dvds only to get them back with the cases smeared in cat poo, his excuse was the cat knocked them off the tv. Yeah off the tv onto the floor, right next to the litter tray that was overflowing with poo, where they stayed for who knows how long. He didn`t even bother to clean them, just gave them back to me, thinking I wouldn`t notice.

RE: SHAUN OF THE DEAD

I saw this film last Wednesday (31st March). It is very, very funny and has a lot of clever references to other zombie films. I never caught Spaced when it was on TV, but will definitely have to now.

RE: Movie sequels you refuse to buy on dvd

Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch

RE: PROBS WITH ALIEN QUADRILOGY

I have a Philips DVD Recorder and it does the same thing.

RE: IMAX Birmingham goes bust ?

I`ve been to IMAX Birmingham to see The Matrix Reloaded and I must admit I was impressed by the screen size and the 3D trailers they showed before the movie, but the film itself... I wasn`t really impressed. The sound was ordinary and the movie didn`t look that much bigger because its a 2.35:1 movie projected on a 4:3 screen.

RE: How often do you go to the cinema/rent DVDs?

I go to the cinema once or twice a week. I also have the UGC Unlimited pass, which is a god send, although I occasionally sneak off to Warner Village because of the Gold Class screens. I try to rent at least one film a week and currently buy no DVD`s at all, I`m gonna treat myself when I go to New York later in the year.

RE: Showerhouse! What a pity!

For anyone who is interested Powerhouse will be sticking around as they have been bought out. Not that I care as I no longer work for them, I work for the Currys right next door!

RE: Showerhouse! What a pity!

Well I work at Powerhouse, and while I haven`t lost my job yet, it is inevitable. The stores that have and are closing are selling their stock off at half price.
