SHAUN OF THE DEAD

chewie (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 17th March 2004, 22:37

Since I saw Return of the King way back in December, this has been at the top of my must see list (of films released in 2004 ;) ).

For those that don`t know what this is, it`s a film made by the same people behind the best TV show ever... SPACED. If you haven`t seen or heard of this then shame on you. But there is a solution, and a cheap one too. Both series are only £6.99 each at Play.com. Get them now, NOW GODDAMNIT!!!!!!

Ok, so Edgar Wright is directing Shaun of the Dead. Tim, I mean Simon Pegg is the star and it`s written by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright. Also Starring Jessica Stevenson (Daisy from Spaced), Nick Frost (Mike from Spaced), Bill Nighy, Lucy Davis (Dawn of Office fame) and many other British folk.

It`s had great test screenings, and the trailer is brilliant. You should be anticipating this film like the second coming of Jesus Christ Superstar himself :D

...or even a come-back movie for Sylvester Stallone :p

And you should check out the official website, even the name is genius: www.romzom.com :D

Cool 8)

I remember the casting call looking for zombies was posted all over the internet.

In case you`re wondering, it`s released on the 9th April :D

Hasn`t been rated in the UK, but I`m holding out for an 18, but it will probably be a 15.

`Spaced` is an acquired taste of course (and those who haven`t acquired it yet have something to look forward to), but the more I read about `Shaun of the Dead` the more concerned I get that this is just going to be a retread of `Spaced` with the edges filed off for the mass audience. However, we shall see.

I love Spaced, and if this is 1/10th as good as that then I`ll be a very happy girl.

Not long to go now!

Saw the trailer for this right before Dawn of the Dead (what else?) and near p*ssed myself it was so funny. Will be straight in to see it.

Haven`t even seen much Spaced but since both series are £6.99 at Play I ordered them.

And Bill Nighy`s in it! Oh, this just gets better and better...
