RE: Superman & Superman II Special Editions £6.98 each!

Can anyone explain this for those of us not on the ball with all these different versions.

I have the original 2 disc box set of Superman 1 and 2.

What is with this foil packaging, I don`t understand? Is so we can replace the discs in our original box set or something?

So, are the sets from Play the latest and best to order for Superman 1 and 2?

thanks

RE: Car Insurance from Ireland

I have been with Tescos for about 6 years, both of our cars, cheap and always had very good service, though never made a claim, but when we needed a certificate of insurance to cover us on a loan car it was magnificent service.

And I don`t work for them!

RE: Intempo DAB CD Alarm Clock

Sorry for what maybe a silly question, but will this just work without any special aerial. I am thinking of this for a Christmas present for my mum in her bedroom or "office".

Does it just plug in and use it`s own aerial? She gets freeview on TV OK if that is of any indication or help?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Epson Picturemate 100 - £40 delivered - great Christmas present(s)?

Scoobies, good spot on Tescos, so a choice of places to buy from!

Yes, to you all, check the delivery costs on Cameras2U if you order.

Epson Picturemate 100 - £40 delivered - great Christmas present(s)?

Hi all,

Epson Picturemate 100 - seems a reasonable "photo" printer, would make a decent christmas present to anyone with a digital camera.
Some good reviews and some not so good, but at £40 - I am sure it is a good buy. I think this originally retailed at about £90.

I think if you shop around for the consumables printing can work out at about 17p per photo.

Cameras2u have it for £39.98 (looks like free delivery).

www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?product=c11c602002

PC world also have it at £39.99 delivered or store collection, but I know I would rather support the "smaller" companies, but here is the link to them too.
BUT do remove the USB lead they "automatically" include!!!!!

RE: Dell Celeron 1.50GHz 512MB 60GB 15.4inch WXGA (N02135a) £397

I priced up the £299 deal with 512mb and 15.4 screen with Dell, and I was quoted on the phone a price of £423.

So this machine is very well priced at £397 and with the large size disk of 60mb, the above machine is only 40mb.

So, good I ordered one as I have to work from home for a period of time, so this will do the job nicely for then.

Thanks to original poster.

RE: Wharfedale M5 not playing DVD-R

Hamid,

S/N starts 1273 so the Sampo drive :-( So in theory I should be having more luck with the DVD-R media?

So maybe not so easy to replace the DVD drive as it is the Sampo?

Thanks for your help, very useful.

When I can get the CyberHome machine for £19.99 from Amazon......

RE: How many Freview boxes do I need?

the new Humax PVR200T allows you to record 2 digital and watch a THIRD as long as the third is on the same multiiplex(?) as 1 you are recording.

I think you can also record 1, and watch 2 (picture in picture).

It only has 2 digital tuners though, as earlier posting said, clever box of tricks.

RE: Wharfedale M5 not playing DVD-R

can nobody help or give me advice on this problem?

Bunnster

RE: How many Freview boxes do I need?

buy the new humax pvr9200T, you can record 2 digital, and 1 watch 1 digital, 160gb, 100+hours, and you can use topuptv via cam in CI slot.

Simple! except it costs £200+

:-)

Which budget DVD player?

Hi all, if no one can help me with the problem of my Wharfedale M5 not playing DVD -R then can you give me advice on the following 3 budget machines and more expensive Sony machine, they have to be multi region capable and play DVD-R?

1) CyberHome CH-DVD400 , £19.99 from amazon
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002JEUK0/ref=br_lf_ce_0/202-6296130-8979060

2) Sanyo DVD SX20, £29.99 from amazon, includes a DISPLAY and SCART lead
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009YCULY/ref=br_lf_ce_1/202-6296130-8979060

3) Not so budget, but SONY and multiregion, Sony DVPNS30, £46.99 at amazon
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009FJMJ6/ref=br_lf_ce_2/202-6296130-8979060

4) Bush DVD2049, £29.99 at argos, but I have plenty of Nectar points that make it cheaper!
www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5334836/Trail/C%24cip%3D36693.Sound%2Band%2Bvision%3EC%24cip%3D36744.DVD%2Band%2Bvideo%3EC%24cip%3D36745.DVD%2Bplayers.htm

I am fancying the Sony at £46.99 (thought more than I wanted to spend).

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Wharfedale M5 not playing DVD-R

Hi all,

I know this is an old machine, but our pride and joy in the lounge.
Anyway, just starting making DVDs, home movies etc. onto DVD-R (Tescos) and they won`t play on this machine, though most sites state it does play DVD-R format.
These discs work fine in the kids playroom (YAMADA) and kitchen portable DVD TV (LODOS).
Any ideas, is the machine just too old, upgraded to the cheapest at Argos or Amazon for £25?
Is it the media, though I have tried a couple of other sample DVD-R media to no avail.
Thanks

RE: Are bank-accounts-direct.co.uk genuine?

Looks dubious.
They should be able to perform their search of financial products without your name, address and date of birth. The other information is not person specific.

Probably a scam, as this information gives them enough for ID fraud, just lacking your national insurance number!

If you campare how somewhere like www.moneysupermarket.com works, you can do all this without giving them any information as to who you are!

RE: Broadband 8mb for £14.99 for first 6mths

Prodigy Networks the same, £14.99 p.m. upto 8mb, 2GB download limit, £1.50 per 1GB above this. Connection fee to ADSL applies if you are not already connected.
See here www.prodigynet.co.uk

From JohnLewis so you get a free 5 year guarantee.

About £230.

amazing, you can watch a record freeview on the same card as long as the channels are on the same multiplex!

A friend has just bought it and he says it is an amazing piece of kit!

RE: Ipod Shuffle 1GB £69 incl delivery

lets me add to basket and to checkout, not that I have bought one. :D

RE: Cheap Freeview???

Just be aware it only has 1 scart socket, so you can`t feed an additional box through it like your video, dvd player etc.

RE: M&S bottle of bubbly in Ice bucket was£33.50 now £18.50 including delivery

If you order 2 you can get free standard delivery, working out at only £15 for each.

RE: 1Gb MP3 Player at Kwik Save

On Ebay there seem to be some very nice 1gb players going for about £55 to £60. About £35 bidding and £15 postage and insurance.

do a search on "1gb mp3 color". They seem to sell about 10 in the mornings and similar late afternoon evening our time.

My only concern is customs unless they are sending them as gifts or marking them below the limit.

RE: Centurion Twin Screen Portable DVD Player £117.50

Is this multi region - just checking as some confusion over the make etc. from the original posting?

Also, I assume you don`t have to watch it with the headphones, there will be some speakers on each screen?

RE: E4 - free for ever (if you didn`t already know)

As original poster I thought I would update this.
I have just got back from Holiday, and can confirm E4 is now free on all Freeview boxes (topuptv compatible or not) and 2 new channels, E4+1 (1 hour timeslip of E4) and newtoopuptv channel that is not encrypted at the moment showing British Eurosport.
I have got these new channels on both topuptv compatible and non compatible Freeview boxes.

With E4 you can get to a Big Brother Live interactive channel at the press of your red button once the logo comes up and switch back to E4 again with the green button.
