RE: DVD Rentals on the net?

I can recommend movietrak.. they`re great. And the mailers they send the DVD`s out in double as a pre-paid return envelope, nice n easy! If anything a minus would be their fairly-limited stock.

RE: DVD Rentals from your local library

Guildford Library is doing DVD rentals.. same price as yours if I remember rightly.

Another good laff is borrowing an audio CD from the library, shove it in your cd-rom drive and fire up audiograbber. Not that I`d ever recommend that anyone should con the music biz outta another CD sale *cough* :-)

RE: My DVD player is better than yours

What Rob failed to mention is the gig`s of pr0n he has on it. Looks mighty impressive on his projector :p

RE: RGB Scart

Unless you can find something that uses a 60hz signal then you wont be able to test it. I do know that you can set a Dreamcast to output video in 60hz, so if you know anyone with one, you could always borrow it and try it out.

Otherwise just look for a DVD player that can playback NTSC disc`s at 50hz.. the Samsung 709 does this (it calls it Pseudo-PAL) although I think it`s been discontinued now, most places still have stock.

RE: Cheaper solution to the Philips Pronto

Ah, only problem is, unless you have a Palm III, you`ll need an extra IR add-on module, as the IR transmitter in every other palm is too weak to go more than 20cm or so (including the m100). Once you take into account the IR module (or the price of a Palm III outright) then you`re at pretty much the same price as the Pronto.

Although admittedly, you`d look pretty silly taking your remote control to a work meeting and trying to jot notes down on it ;-)
