RE: samsung ht-q20

I think that dvd-r taken from original sources work fine, but dvd-r taken from downloaded sources have problems.
I have tried using the same media (yellow datawrite) on both an original dvd and a downloaded file and the dvd-r would only work from the original dvd source.

I need to experiment a little more as I cant understand why a dvd player would be able to detect what source the dvd-r has been taken from.

RE: samsung ht-q20

Well given all the information I cant figure out what it can be. I have tried 2 films on the same media and 1 worked and the other didnt.
Has anyone tried copying the dvds on a slower speed to see if this helps the matter. I would attempt this myself but im using my laptop as my pc has encountered problems. (no dvd writer).
If this angle has been tested then I will attempt to purchase the discs mentioned above and copy over to them.

RE: samsung ht-q20

I have read the links and I dont think it is a media related problem. I have been playing about with the buttons on the remote when the disc prohibited sign appears and have found if you press stop when the message appaears and then press play, it will actually play the film. The only problem is that there is no sound and you are unable to skip chapters ect!!!
If this info helps anyone to find a way of playing these films then please share with me as it seems to be good money wasted on this system!

How to play dvd rom discs in Samsung HT-XQ100R/XEU

I have entered the region free code into the player and it allows me to view my region 1 dvds, but when I put a dvd which has been created on my pc it says disc prohibited.
Most of my films are in this format and im unable to view them.

Has anyone got a code or know a way to view these discs on this system??
