£100 and 128mb - not bad - Okay - it`s no ipod - but these Koreans know a thing or two about small electronics.

RE: Has anyone seen The Sopranos (Any Region) Box sets at a good price?

Looks like it. It appears that the best offer is via Australia.

My UK Kelkoo searches find the cheapest boxset at £50. I havn`t heard any news on when Series 3 will be released.

Apparently the Region 1 versions are the best although I have Reg 2 Box set series 2 and I think it`s very good.

I`ll keep looking - if I find this on the cheap anywhere in the UK I`ll post to let you all know.

Best regards.

Has anyone seen The Sopranos (Any Region) Box sets at a good price?

Heading says it all really. I`d like season One. Best regards. Can`t find this in the sales anywhere.

Cinema Paradiso Region 2

This film is now available in Directors cut - widescreen version. It`s pretty good and I thoroughly recommend it - especially if you are bored of the usual Hollywood drivel.
It clocks in at approx 170 mins so set aside an evening.

RE: I am still here... just hiding.

Oh Dear Ben, where do I begin? The use of your full name (natch), the "War & Peace" responses you use to justify your ill-thought previous postings, the complete inability to laugh at yourself, which was personified in your response to the Shoddytyme post. The petty name calling and bitterness.

I`m so glad you didn`t ask Ben. Thanks for your concern anyway.

RE: I am still here... just hiding.

Mmm, the length of your reply amazes me. You have totally missed the point. You have changed the subject matter from Movietyme`s customer service to the CTHD disk.

I am a spoilt brat. Yet again you are correct 007. Please stop your whining. It`s everywhere, on every post & is incredibly boring.

Can you name any other examples - I didn`t take you for an Argos kind of guy. How does their business model work? Indeed, where is Argos?

RE: I am still here... just hiding.

There is nothing silly about expecting an advertised good to be in stock. Maybe I should stick to shops & maybe people should stop posting messages about how good retailers are in a retailer review column, when they quite obviously are pretty sub standard.

When I made the order for CTHD there was none of this "Please note" It wasn`t until everyone realised they had been suckered into ordering a good that hadn`t even been manufactured and hassled this company for info that they came up with this lame excuse.

Anyway, what exactly are you trying to convey in your above response. It makes no sense? Are you justifying the business model of Movietyme.com? You seem to be contradicting yourself.

RE: I am still here... just hiding.

Yet again, Mr. Franklin totally misses the point. If a company advertises goods - they should have them in stock ready for delivery.

I hope the bastards fold and take there shoddy site with them. I can never recall ordering a product & thinking it will be well worth the wait. (Unless I am pre-ordering - which I beleive to be a totally different concept) There was not one mention of this on their site. This was obviously a large pre-order scam & hopefully everyone knows not to trust them again.

Scarface - Region 2

Does anyone else own this DVD? It is pretty cool. The extras are some of the best I`ve seen yet.

It`s £16.99 in woolies at the moment. (Though judging from previous posts they are not everyones favorite retailer)

RE: Creating A slide show on a CD

Also get DIVX or DECSS.

These are ripper programs that well..........decrypt your DVD disks and allow you to muck about with it.

It is too lengthy for me to go into full detail here.

Just do a Google search on either DIVX or DECSS.

This link may help you create VCD from your DVD`s. I`ve tried it once for a VCD for my laptop. It works okay (Actually it`s pretty shi*te) but it took a lot of mucking about. Too much time and effort.

RE: Movietyme

The fact that they accept Switch proves that they have a UK outlet somewhere. They are part of the Switch/Solo Retailer Merchant scheme - one of the prerequisites is that you are a retailer based in the United Kingdom.

I only know this sad fact because I work for one of the big banks. (Won`t mention which one as I`m not to proud of it really)

This just proves that they are even more shoddy than I originally thought. I still have not recived my goods nor had any further info re: CTHD.

Eclipse DVD 595

The hack is " 7 , 7 Select"

Make sure that there is no disk in your machine.

13 is the multi-region setting. I don`t know much about the other settings.

To exit the menu press eject on your remote.

RE: Movietyme R Great!

Ordered from them last week. Gave them my details. Ordered Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Received receipt via e-mail. Checked the site - they have started to deliver this item but have placed a message saying do not contact us re: this disk?

Why the f**k not? Surely, if they have an item they should deliver it. If they have supply problems they should tell us what is happening. Ben sings their praises but this kind of way of doing business is shoddy & unprofessional. Admittedly they havn`t debited my account yet but it has still been well over a week now.

I am not holding my breath. I experienced the same shoddy service from Letsbuyit.com 2 months before they went under. I was lucky to receive a refund which took 3 phone calls and 1 letter.

Even play247.co.uk have been a bit underperforming as of late. As soon as e-tailers get their customer service right, only then can we lobby BT & OFTEL for better connections and faster access to the net.

I don`t think that Movietyme are Great at all. If i receive my disk i might think that they are an okay retailer but this kind of service is in my view unacceptable.

RE: GREAT FILMS THAT WE, (OR I), WANT TO SEE ON DVD

The Godfather (What a box set that would be)
Twelve Angry Men
Cinema Paradiso (The Directors cut)

RE: mp3 Burning

To download this, go to the german site (they have an English version)
I think it is www.ahead.de

or something like that.

One you have the demo downloaded you could always do a Google search for Nero 5 Keygen to unlock the full program.

Of course, that would be illegal but I am merely suggesting you could try this if you were that way inclined.

Nero is excellent. It uses a simple drag & drop facility. I`ve had no problems with this software.

Mail me rekcehctludA[at]moc.liamtoh and I will send you a zip file with more info if you want.

RE: HACK NEEDED

p*** Off to the hack forum then.

Or do a search on Google.

Or maybe Usenet.

RE: Urgent NEED Region Hack For Grundig GDV 211, Please Help??

Yeah I`ll help, p*** Off to the Region Hack Forum.

Eclipse 595 DVD

I`ve posted this before, apologies.

Does anyone have the hack? Someone said it`s the same as the MICA?

Where/what is the MICA machine/hack?

RE: hack for the eclipse 595

I still can`t find a hack for this machine.

I don`t know about RCE disks although am awaiting Perfect Storm.

Basically though, this has accepted everything I throw at it.

MP3 files on CDRW is what really impresses me.

I have played The Abyss (Region 1) Special Edition & I can find no faults.

All the extras play, the animated menus are in-tact, lip-synch good.

Help Please - Any known Hacks for Grundig GDV211GB

Does anyone know of any hacks for this machine or indeed, if it is hackable?

Will the GrundigGDV211a Hack work for this machine?

Many thanks.

RE: CAN ANYONE HELP

Richer Sounds - Eclipse 595 - £160.00

Multi-Region and MP3 et al, CD-R, CD-RW

I basically have this in my bedroom (Sony DVPS300 is downstairs) and it is fine for a budget player - it looks pretty good too, which is more than can be said for the Alba.

The other guy is right though - your question opens big debate & everyone will have a diferent opinion.

RE: eclipse dvd595 help is their anyboby out there

Basically I`ve found no info yet - despite searching most engines - I`ve also phoned a couple of Richer Sounds shops but they either don`t have a clue (a typical answer is "Of course It`s multi-region") or they seem a bit reluctant to talk about it.

Can`t find a company called Eclipse either - don`t know who they are owned by?

Will post if I find further info - but this machine is a budget baby - that`s for sure. Playing my MP3 files on CDRW disk earlier - very impressed.
