I have the Alba 108 DVD player, I bought it from Argos here in the UK. I myself can safley say that it is multi-region straight from the box; I recently visited New York, over in America and bought myself a region 1 copy of "School Of Rock" and "Orange County". I took them back home to the UK and was pleased to find that they worked on my region 2 Alba 108 DVD player; I did`nt have to do any messing around with the remote or player itself, I just stuck the discs in and they worked just like any old region 2 DVD`s. So yes I have proof that the 108 is multi-region straight from the box - NO HACKING NEEDED!

As for VCD`s, well I`m afraid hacking IS needed on the Alba 108 to play them, but don`t worry they do work and it`s not hard! Simply insert your VCD into the player and as the tray shuts and the disc is inseted keep pressing the "GOTO" button on you remote.(do this fairly fast) The osd/menu will drop down and ask you to enter a disk time, simply enter 0000 and then press play quickly and hey, your VCD is running and working. I don`t know how this works, but who cares, the point is that is it does!

Hope This Helps, if not then I`m sorry, but it works on mine! If it don`t work the first time then keep trying you should eventually get it, it took me a few times until it worked!

This christmas I gotta bunch of DVD`s, the only problem is I need easter eggs for them, so if you have know of any easter eggs for the following please tell me.

Alien Quadrilogy Boxset
Indiana Jones 4 Disc Boxset
Futurama Season 4 Boxset
Pirates Of The Caribbean (2 disc set)
The Office Season 2

(all DVD`s are region 2)
