RE: Aldi -- Pentium 4 160 GB Hard disk £849

I have a Medion PC from Toys R Us. Have had no problems at all with the PC - all works fine. On mine the motherboard is a Medion specific one.

RE: Aldi have done it again..another great P.C

Medion PCs are available elsewhere. Staples stock them and sometimes PC World but not at such a good price. One other deal that you can also get though:

Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz, 512MB Fast DDR Ram (333MHz), 120GB (Fast 7,200 RPM), 56k V.90 Fax/Data/Modem, 4 x DVD-R 2x DVD-RW (Minus), 16x8x32x CD Writer, 16 x DVD Drive, 128MB DDR RAM Graphics, NVidia Geforce FX5200, 17" CRT Monitor, 6 channel audio, stereo speakers, 1 x Parallel, Serial, 2 x Rear USB 2.0, 10/100Mbit Lan Port, 1 x Firewire (IEEE 1394), 3 x PCI Slots, TV/Radio Tuner

Front Connect XL Module
Built in SD/MMC Card Reader, Compact Flash/MicroDrive Card Reader, Sony Memory Stick Reader, Smart Media Card Reader PLUS all of the other connections S-Video In, Composite Video In, Audio / Mic inputs and a gameport, 3 x USB 2.0, 1 x Firewire

Software
Latest Edition Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Microsoft Works Suite 2003, Nero DVD/CD copying Software and Power Cinema Software with video recording software

Comparison with Aldi version - now P4 2.8, includes 17" monitor and floppy drive but no remote control and different (but rougly equivalent) graphics card. Price £899. Place Toys R Us - sold under the Cybermaxx brand. Also available with 15" TFT and Epson CX3200 printer/scanner for £1099. You can buy through their website for just £3.50 delivery charge per order - compare that to the normal £50 by PC companies.

They are also selling 5.1 Surround Sound speakers at around £40, 50 CD-Rs for £9.95 and 10 DVD-Rs for £14.75.
