RE: DVDSoon Bought Out by DVDImport

Is this Groundhog day?

Or is it the curse of DVDSOON?

I seem to have read stories like this before.

Get your chargebacks before you lose your money.!

RE: Im looking for gay films but not porn, can anyone help

Beautiful Thing is a must as is the Queer as Folk series (watch the UK series first as previously mentioned).

Girls will be girls is a great campy trashy gay movie as well, not mainstream but great fun for a night in front of the box with a few freinds and some drinks.

However there are 1,000s of gay themed movies out there and "about gay movies" is the definative site which will give you all the info you need.

http://www.aboutgaymovies.info/list.htm

Don`t expect to like everything though as some of the camper stuff like the classic "la cage au folles" (the original French not the Robin Williams fiasco of a remake) doesn`t suit everybody. The deeper films like "Midnight Express" or "Kiss of the SpiderWoman" can be tough going also.

Happy hunting.

RE: DVDSoon - HELP Please!!!

If you charged the amount to a credit card you may still be able to do a charge back, you will have to be persistant but your provider should know DVDSOON as most people did chargebacks months ago. The reason for the chargeback is that "goods were paid for, but not supplied" you must also show that you have tried to get a refund or DVDSOON are not giving you one.

However you may have left it too late as chargebacks should be done within a set period of time. I don``t think there are any other options open as this bunch of crooks (and I use that term carefully) appear to have no intention of doing anything that they say on their site.

RE: Has anyone ordered from DVDSoon.com

This is a criminal organasiation. It has stolen money from hundreds of people.
I was lucky to recover my stolen money through my credit card company others have not been so lucky.

Throw you money into a charity tin at least you will know where it has gone.Or order from a reputable company. :(

RE: Alfred Hitchcock: Masterpiece Collection £46.75 15 Discs! (+ del).

You have got to be joking even posting anything about those crooks. Why not send me your money at least I would say thanks. I wouldn`t send you the DVDs but hey niether will DVDSOON !

RE: When was the last time you recieved something from DVDSoon.com?

;) My chargebacks appeared on my ccredit card account today equivilent to $166 CAD.

So I guess I received something from DVDSOON today!!!

Let the crooks try and challenge the charge backs!

Now to get a refund on the infidel card!

Fat chance.

RE: Complaints for DVDSoon - somewhere to send complaint to...

If it is not caused by criminal intent, then by us reporting it as a crime they might wake up to the fact that they can`t treat they customer this way.

I have asked my credit card provider to do a charge back and have reported them using the link above for good measure.

RE: When was the last time you recieved something from DVDSoon.com?

>:( Well another week goes by and still no stock of new releases.

I called my credit card provider who says that they have no problem reversing the charges on my card if the goods have not been supplied. This is even taking into account the age of some of the charges after cancelled orders and re-ordering.

Once the charge is reversed it is up to DVDSOON to prove that they delivered the goods if they want the money back. So much for their stupid terms and conditions that you have to accept when submitting an order!

RE: Can someone check something for me on DVDSoon.com...

:( I give them longer, they have no (or very little) stock anyway. They are still taking peoples money and not sending out thir DVDs you could last for a very long time while people keep paying for nothing.

I have stopped ordering from them but still have loads of unfullfilled orders as do many more (hundreds?) people.

RE: When was the last time you recieved something from DVDSoon.com?

I have just spoken to customer services who, when pushed, admitted that they are not getting their normal quantities supplied at the moment due to "the time of year when studios and distributors merge"! but that deliveries would be back to normal in a couple of weeks. Normally when companies don`t get what they have ordered in sufficient quantities it means they haven`t paid their bills!!

Anyway I don` t believe a word of it!

I for one won`t be ordering anything until then can shift some of the back orders and actually show some stock on their site (nothing shows as in stock anymore).

I would advise anyone thinking of ordering from DVDSOON to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks, SOMETHING FEELS VERY WRONG HERE!

RE: When was the last time you recieved something from DVDSoon.com?

I had one DVD shipped on Monday but have 9 other pending DVDs most of which are re-orders after they got cancelled because they were over 60 days old.

I have stopped ordering for a while, as I am concerned that they are in financial trouble (and if they are not they need to explain what is going on) and am using DVDPacific which after placing an order for a fairly obscure disc on Monday, shipped it last night!

RE: 4400 on DVD from (yeah ok I know they suck) DVDSoon

:( I have just had three items that have been on order for more that 60 days cancelled!!
I have re-ordered them at a higher price (suprise!) What`s the betting that they now arrive!
I was not offered anything other than instore credit so DVDSoon have had my money for more that two months now!
DVDSoon are the cheapest but customer service is rubbish if things go wrong, however as a cheap way of buying DVDs they have no competition, as a well supported way of buying DVDs go elsewhere!

RE: DVDSOON Customer Service IS RUBBISH!

You pay your money and take your choice. Cheap and nasty or more expensive and good.I use DVDSOON a lot and they are slow and unhelpfull. However they do replace lost items without complaint. If I want things quickly I use play.com :/

RE: Sendit... slooow

You should wait 7 days before reporting it. I had a disc fail to arrive recently and other orders have been slow to be despatched. They are not as good as when it was Blackstar that is for sure.

RE: super deal at amazon. Moulinex Juice maker 25quid.. 60quid else where.. HOT ITEM CHECK NOW HOT I

:) Thanks for the posting I have just ordered one too. It`s my first juicer and it looks ideal for that..and @ £25 inc postage I can`t complain!

RE: Help Required - Niagra Falls, Canada

The falls themselves are magnificent even better in the summer when you can take a trip on the maid of the mist boats. We stayed two nights in a hotel (2004) with a view of the falls but spent the main day on a trip to Toronto.
the whole town of Niagra is tacky and makes Blackpool look clasy! Blackpool is fun & kitch tacky whereas Niagra is just plain tacky. See the falls but avoid the town.

The Canadian people however are very freindly and mean it when they say have a nice day.

RE: DVD SOON FIDELITY I CARD MEMBERS DEMAND A BETTER SERVICE!

:( Here`s the reply I got today..they are not budging at the moment. I did respond saying that they need to talk to Canadian customs again, and what they were doing was illegal here, and we are incurring costs..so I will wait and see if they respond. Keep up the pressure everyone please.

Dear Sir:

Our customs declarations forms have been reviewed by upper management as
well as with certain customs offices. Unfortunately we are unable to
have this form reflect the iCard discount as it is not the true value of
the product. We have attempted to locate a work around as we were
unable to do so. Please remember that the value was distinguished
according to the legal documents provided by custom offices who have
complained regarding our procedures in the past.

As an alternative you can advise your local customs office that you have
your sales receipt. Some countries may accept this where as others may
charge a fee. Please note that we will not be able to reimburse any
additional fees that may be incurred by providing your sales receipt.
You can print your invoice by clicking on the blue button located at the

I replied and told them that it was illegal to declare a higher price than that paid and await their response!
The more complaints though the better.

RE: ARGOS - Warning

>:( I find the quickest method of resolving these sort of issues were retailers fail to grasp that they have stolen your money, is to issue a county court summons. It is cheap and a completed claim form sent to the retailer threatening to submit it to the county court is often enough to get them to cough up.

All the info, guifdance and forms are on line here www.courtservice.gov.uk/index.htm

RE: Dvd Soon - Dvd lost in post

:) DVDSOON are one of the cheapest retailers around. They are never the quickest and if you can`t wait, order elsewhere! I had a batch of 5 separate DVDs go missing at the end of last year and they were replaced without question.

If you want imediate response to emails and quick delivery then these people are not for you, however there are people who charge more and have less customer service than DVDSOON.

FREE DVD WITH SATURDAY`S TIMES

:)

This Saturday the Times is giving away a DVD of "A Private Funcition" excellent Michael Palin, Maggie & Liz Smith movie.

RE: The DVD Soon Conspiracy.

DVDSOON is excellent for price and service and if your item is in stock and the international postal sytem is working properly you can get stuff in three days (not working days either I have received stuff on a Monday that was dispatched on a Friday!) .

They replace lost items (I recently lost five separate DVDs and they have all been replaced) without question). However the wait for items to be proven as lost is very long (45 working days). Frustrating, but hardly DVDSOONs problem, they didn`t lose them!

If speed is your priority then PAY MORE, if not sit back and wait you might be lucky and get the stuff quickly or you might have a nice surpise in a month or twos time when you have forgotten what you ordered. DVDSOON are rarely beaten on price so its up to you.

I only use other suppliers (usually play.com) when I have to have an item by a certain date but I always pay more for that sevice.

RE: Cheap DVDs at DVD Soon

8) I have used DVDSoon for ages and yes they are slow and charge as soon as you order. However they are rarely undersold. If things go missing (I had five DVDs in a month "mislaid" by the post office ! you have to wait 45 days before a replacement is sent! but then it`s a no quible easy service to get a replacement and in the last month my DVDs have only taken two-three working days to arrive which I think is excellent. If you need something on the release date you need to pay more than these people charge, I still use Play.com if I just have to have something ASAP.

RE: DVD SOON LOST DVDs

Thanks for the helpfull coments. As all DVDs are under the £18 limit and my letterbox takes all DVD packages I must assume that they have been "lost" somewhere in the post office system. I hope they gave someone some pleasure!!!!

I just hope DVDSOON don`t have a problem with re-sending five in such a short period, so far my replacements are showing as pending so hope things move a long quickly as 45 days is a long time to wait bewore you can report them missing.

DVD SOON LOST DVDs

:(
Five DVDs despatched by DVDSOON between
June 22nd - July 19th have gone astray!
Has anyone else experienced any recent problems. I have asked for replacements as each 45 day waiting period has elapsed but have not had replacements yet. Has anyone any experience with replacements with DVDSOON.
Have reported the matter to the POST OFFICE as well but surprise surprise ! No reply yet!
Normally though I have no problems and deliveries have been back to normal for a while now.

RE: DVDSoon........reliable? Any good?

I`ve used DVDSOON for while now with no problems. Yes they take your money as soon as you order and the stuff can take forever to arrive (up to 10 weeks after the dispatch date let alone the time they take to order the item). However they are extremely cheap. If you are not in a hurry they are great. A good place to find hard to find items and art house stuff at a discount.

EALING BOX SETS £19.97 @ Amazon.co.uk

RE: the best dvd site for region 1

Try deepdiscountdvd.com they have them at £43.00 each I like deepdiscountdvd and have had swift service and replies to emails from them but have not ordered over the £18 limit so I can`t advise on customs charges.

RE: Blackstar.co.uk now Sendit.com!?

:( Blackstar /sendit have scrapped their rewards scheme entirely. Leaving anyone who was saving, with a derisory credit of a pound or two for hundreds of pounds of spend (approx 0.25p in the pound).

They obviously don`t want to keep loyal customers. Avoid.!!!

RE: Blackstar.co.uk now Sendit.com!?

>:( I have just had a reply from sendit.com about the old blackstar star awards scheme.
Sendit.com have discontinued the scheme due to lack of interest!!! I suggest if anybody was saving for big award (they had dvd players as the top reward) they had better claim something from the miserable list of things left pretty sharpish!!.
Very shoddy treatment of loyal customers!
