RE: 1GB SD card bargain

£98.95 when I have a look, and not listed under deal of the day. :-(

RE: 3 Weeks Free DVD Rental !

I`m not having a great time with them at the moment... they haven`t replied to my email which I sent a week ago.
It is taking over a week for them to receive DVDs I send back. I suspect that this is not the fault of the post service which doesn`t seem to have any problems with anything else I send. The fact that they have a backlog of emails to deal with which is over a week long seems to support this suspicion.
Also, I have about 15 DVDs in my top priority lists. These never make it to me.
On more than 1 occasion, 2-set DVDs have been sent to me without the second part. The second part on these occasions is not recognised on the system and has to be found manually by the customer services team. I`m not talking about bonus disks here, but where the 2nd disk is integral to the package.
They have advertised that if another rental company has a DVD they don`t have, if you tell them they will order it straight away, and let you rent it first. This doesn`t happen.
These problems are a shame, as they have a great selection, especially since they merged with DvdsOnTap.
I have found Louise in customer services to be helpful... don`t speak to anybody else as you`ll be told that someone will phone you back. They won`t.

RE: Lidl - £99 Surround Sound kit

Personally, I found a Videologic Digitheatre from Morgan Computers for £117 inc VAT a huge bargain.
There are still some great write ups for these speakers and decoder on the net, at this price I don`t think there`s anything better. Sometimes, Morgan Computers sell the DTS version cheaply as well, but it looks like they`re out of stock at the moment.
Here`s the link...

RE: Refurbished XDAs from O2 shops, usually £299, for £99

Line rental`s a minimum of £15 a month... the option I`ve gone for is 30 mins a month to any phone at any time, but there are other options. Data is paid for as you use it, & is £5 per Mb, but I don`t think I`ll be needing it that often.
I`m still really chuffed with it, & have ordered a 256 Mb card for £70... leaving me with many uses!

RE: Refurbished XDAs from O2 shops, usually £299, for £99

Hey, `The Funker`, you are a star! I`m one very happy gadget lover now, and my wife is very bored of my XDA!
I ended up travelling to York for mine, they still have a couple left if anyone wants one.
Incidentally, it is the 32Mb version (as I expected), no extra stylus and no earpiece, but still a bargain.
Woohoo! (Okay, I`ll calm down now...)

RE: Refurbished XDAs from O2 shops, usually £299, for £99

It also appears to be impossible to find an email address for sales on the o2 website... or a phone number that is cheaper than 50p per minute. Great!

RE: Refurbished XDAs from O2 shops, usually £299, for £99

Huddersfield branch don`t have any... does anyone know a branch that does?

MVC Bargains to Come?

Just been doing some Christmas shopping in MVC, noticed a hidden box with LOADS of copies of LOTR for £10. I guess this will be for a sale on boxing day, so I presume there`ll be lots of other bargains.

RE: The Mask - £4.99 at Game Shops

I also saw Crouching Tiger for £4.99 @ White Rose Centre. Blimey...

RE: Free 14 days rental at DVDs on Tap

I`m a member of both... In-movies has a great range but in my opinion the customer service is terrible. DVDs regularly arrive with great huge cracks down them, and I`ve had the wrong DVDs arrive a few times, and I have huge problems getting items near the top of my list (top 10). So I joined DvdsOnTap... I regularly get items at the top of the list, and the whole process is a lot more smooth, but unfortunately they just don`t have the same range of films as In-Movies, and aren`t buying new ones at the same rate either. So for the moment, I`m a member of both until my wife forces me to give one of them up! DvdsOnTap for blockbusters and In-Movies for obscure arthouse.

RE: Video sender - any work with NTL

Oops, I didn`t see the thread below... there`s already a discussion going on about these things!

RE: Video sender - any work with NTL

I would have thought the ones on special offer from Maplins would do the trick. They`re £50 and relay remote signals as well. They hook up via scart on both ends. I`ve got some of these that I use for internet radio, they`re not bad.

RE: Half Price Clearance in Electrical Dept. at Courts (Lakeside)

Did you get the job of web-developer about 2 years ago? I was considering applying!

RE: HMV sale - details clayts??

Oops, I meant the White Rose centre...

RE: HMV sale - details clayts??

The 1965/1967 2DVD Avenger box sets for £13 each wasn`t bad... I went to HMV at Meadowhall, and got the impression there were a few items in the sale that weren`t on the website. Any Frank Zappa fans, get down there, there must be about 30+ albums going for around £5 each.

RE: HMV sale - details clayts??

The classical CDs are particularly good this year... good selection & cheap.

RE: new lite service from in movies

I joined up 1 1/2 months ago for in-movies, and had a lot of problems. When it runs smoothly, it`s great... but they`ve been having loads of problems with their database.
I would have cancelled, but I want to see all the arthouse films I can`t rent anywhere else!
I`m also considering cancelling and going to www.viewdvd.co.uk
It`s worth noticing how similar these are... I suspect in-movies copied these guys.
And viewdvd is cheaper... has anyone tried them?
