RE: Swordfish - Worth Buying?

Hey,
Talking of action scenes though, the beginning (sort of) scene was great. With the ball berings and stuff.
Nothing new of course, but it looked cool.

Wharfedale 750 OR LG 4950(4750)?

Hi,
Currently I have a Wharfedale DVD 750.
I wouldn`t mind upgrading this, but am not exactly desperate.
My choice would, probably, be the LG DVD4950.

The better things about this are that it accepts CD-RW`s and MP3`s.
It has a Dolby Digital Decoder in it.
And it has 6 channel output.

The Wharfedale seems to not have the above things.

Basically, I`m wondering if it is worth changing over for the LG DVD4950? (Do they both have DTS?)

I also heard that the 4950 is the same as the 4750 but looks a bit different. Is this also true? Because if it has the same features I`ll try and get the older one and save a few bucks.

(Just a quick thing too, what is the remote hack for the DVD4950/4750? I can`t find it in the hacks section. Plus can the Wharfedale play all regions with the hack or just 1 & 2?)

Thanks!!

RE: Problems with Tescos and Wharfedale

Just a thought, but getting someone other than a Tesco`s technician to fit a new chip/whatever, would this invalidate the warranty (if any)?
Also if somehting went wrong, like the technician broke the motherboard (I recall someone on these forums reporting that) would they still be able to get it replaced?
Just a thought.

RE: best value dvd player

IMHO, a budget, yet good palyer that deserves a mention at least is the Wharfedale 750.
It`s an OK player and looks aren`t the best, but the playback is good and that`s what counts I suppose.
It`s remote hackable to play region 1 (all?) DVD`s and can play RCE DVD`s with a bit of help.
This is available from Tesco stores. Not bad.

7.5 / 10

(Of course, as r8ss0 said, the Wharfedale M5 is good and plays MP3`s. Know what the price difference is?)

Rush Hour Subtitles!

Hi,

My Region 2 "Rush Hour" (The first one!) is in perfect condition but I seem to have lost the subtitles!

At the begining of the film, there is some chinese talking and subtitles come up in english. These then go when english is being spoken.

I have tried puting english subtitles back on but this doesn`t work as then i get subtitles all the way through the film! What do i need to do to get it back to normal?
